The crap skin is now in the workx for completion currently a good friend of mine that hasn't done any work with skinning is assisting me in a redesign of the now corrupt and originally disgusting skin.

Well, here is the ss of the main in progress...I will come back periodically with updates.

Looking nice, though that "Song Information" text encroaches on the title too much. Looks crowded. Nice everything else, though. :)

maybe if you balanced it with a "Timer" or "Visualisation" on the other end, that would help out the look. or possibly put the text info label underneath instead of over.

Looks pretty good. I love the numbers. Personally, I'd like to see some of that more realistic, shaded look that you have in the numbers in other parts of the skin.

Here is some more updates...per the request you were right to take out the song info...it really wasn't needed anyway. Some other effects have been added to...and my collab partner has jumped ship so, I've been doing it all myself... :: sigh ::

BTW: Take a notice of the Repeat button...although its not labeled (yet)...it does reflect the idea I'm trying to incorporate. A simulated layer...essentially the button object is supposed to look as though it goes behind and darkens the glass below it. I dunno but, it looks as though I've accomplished it....Let me know if you can think of a better way to accomplish this if you understand my thinking that is.

On the other stuff...Right know I'm working on trying some new things with the volume/bal animations...for the moment I just have the static setup....but, I'm hoping to copy some of the cbutton effects to complete the effect. I Like my eq/pl buttons but, I think I will darken them a bit more...on the on side....I'm also, working on incorporating the shaded effects from the numbers to volume/bal/eq/pl areas.

I don't think there will be any significant changes to the posbar area, numbers, text, vis, clutterbar or the min/max/close areas.

After I finish the volume/bal/shuf/rep/eq/pl buttons I will be on the ws_shade modes. That should prove to be quite interesting. Peacemaker....I'd like your assistance if possible as I am unable to grapple with some elements that I know you excel at. Please, send me email when you read this if you want to try your hand out on some parts. I will send the whole as I have it know.

Personally I like the level of crowding. The shuffle and balance are gorgeous. And I love the gullwing thingy at the top.

Thankx skinme...Peacemaker & I have been working pretty hard to get a good thing going and its nice to hear of those that find that what we are doing has a good look to it.

nothings final, esp. the vis colours, but i hope it clears things up a bit better. i tried for a balanced look and hopefully have shaken out some pixel errors that i caught along the way :)

It's def. looking great. I like the simplicity of the volbal. I *really really* like the shuf rep levers. I think perhaps the cbuttons are diminished a lil' by their relative stature. I dunno... it's a tough call... don't want to clutter them. I think apart from that it's well balanced. Congrats.

// offtopic: with regards to sonique2, i haven't seen the development side but the product seems a lil crappy for my liking. the playlist window is annoying and I found it hard to do what's piss easy in either Winamp 2.x or 3.x

It's weird, and most likely just me, but somehow that screenie makes it looks higher then the 275x116 pixels (I know its not, but it looks that way to me)

humm, it looks like you are trying too hard to meld two styles of art together...what i mean is that the eq bars don't look great.

Agreed. In another skin they would look gorgeous. However, they seem out of place and in direct contrast to the horizontal focus of the main.

well they're only there to give jax some ideas.. plus everythings not final, i generally change things around after some time to think.
plus theres no colour in them yet, which should improve things.

Well, we have improved upon the Eq and added a whole lot to it and detailing alot of poo....Taken quite some time for us on this one.

But, its a good design and worth the efforts.

The pl looks real kool.So Peacemaker did the eq and the pl but its still youre style jax.
The thing that bugs me is the eq slider. Looks outta place.

but, as I said Peacmaker has as yet to touch eq_main pl_edit

Peacemaker will likely throw up the next ss. But, this is a true collab. First one of us starts on something...then we send to the other (working on something)....wait for response. Get Update...View make comments Incorporate etc.

jax, i dont think we need to fill the eq's center if i put the ss6 text in there.

Yeah, I like that lets roll with it although, the orb idea maybe still effective with a blur and outline on the edge....under the ss6.


BTW: The cutups for the main are in the zip I sent you as well as some for the eq...however, without the additional stuff you did.

So, you may be able to use a great deal of it already...Do you have the custom AVS / The CustomAVS Plugin / Mikro ???

***I'm trying out cursors...Since, I've never done them this IconEdit Pro is being nasty...but, we will see if I will fly with cursors or without.***
