I second that. My desktop is too precious to place dirty icons on it. ;)

On the topic of icons...Heres a trick u can play on a n00b if youre feeling devious.

Take a screenshot of the desktop, save it as a bmp (or png or whatever) set it as the background and close explorer...Then sit back and watch them try to click on the icons or start menu...

sanosuke 29th October 2002 09:07

hehehehe....thats a gd one...

btw i hide my icons as well.

smeggle 29th October 2002 10:28

the general concensus seems.............

so general consensus (including me, I only have what I really need...current infestation aside)is that Icon's on desktops should be hidden and not seen? (sounds a bit like [imatation of Sean connery]Shaken but not stired.) interesting emmmmmmmmmm!interesting?

ja.

all my icons to stuff are on some toolbar that appears when i bump the left of the screen wit the cursor.
i usually put some part of my latest design work on my desktop, cause it helps me pick up what errors etc are there.

sanosuke 29th October 2002 14:32

yup thats what i do to....lemon chicken...except that the toolbar is on top not on the left....and my desktop is a calendar i get from here: csnation.counter-strike.net

Am I the only one who found this hysterical? It reminds me of the first time Richard Webster (a southern baptist-born organist) walked into St. Luke's Episcopal in Evanston, IL, and said "Oh my god! So many graven images! You're all going to hell."
