I'm Dumb
While bullshitting elsewhere in the house my brother asked me if I had a stapler and I responded in the affirmative. I went to my room, my brother in tow, grabbed my stapler (which is much more broken now than it was before), pushed it through the paper and into the palm of my hand. It seems the bottom lock-thing is broke and I reacted too fast and stupidly to realise my hand wasn't on the bottom of the stapler, but poised to take an unclean shard of metal in the nerve ending. When I hollared and flapped my hurt hand, the papers flew here and ther, pulling the staple out of the entry holes at a slant, tearing more meat inside.
It's not fun to react by dropping the stapler on your foot, either. I think I broke my toe. Let this be a lesson--Don't staple things past midnight. |
 Ow! That really sucks! I'm so sorry about that. :(
Another solution to not stapling after midnight is to buy one of those electric staplers & never put your finger anywhere near it unless it's unplugged. This story kind of reminds me of the time I got a deep cut from a pair of scissors. You see, I was trying to cut some paper, but my scissors were so dull they kept tearing the paper. I tried a few more pairs of scissors that were just about as dull. (This was in an art room at school) So I go over to the scissors drawer and decide to test the sharpness of the scissors before I test them. Anyway, I picked a pair that looked fairly new and shiny, and I ran my thumb along one of the blades. I was (:o somewhat...well, not really) surprised when it made a deep cut into my thumb! I've never had any accident with an X-Acto knife...at least none that were any more serious than a slight pinprick as the knife twirled and touched me. Because I'm so careful with X-Acto knives it seems even more stupid to cut myself on scissors . I'm under a time crunch at the time, and when I move my thumb, it looks like one of those coin purses that you squeeze on the sides & it opens. Something's not right when I can see the inner workings of my thumb!!! So I'm trying to decide whether I keep working & bleed on my project (it was just a sketch model...not the real thing), or do I stop & suck on my thumb for a while? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- All of us (for the most part) make mistakes. Whether we learn from our mistakes determines our character and who we can become. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The moral of my story: don't test the sharpness of scissors! |
wow, that kind of sucks. Sorry, dude.
Reminds me of a quote I heard somewhere, "Whatever you do, don't say 'at least it can't get any worse.' It always will". |
try following the material through with your fingers when using a sewing machine - i saw someone do that once, not funny....
well, it wasnt at the time anyway *laughs histerically* |
ouch! jesus if my brother done that I would wack him with the stapler.
anyways I have pity for you and the other lesson is to not trust brothers..... |
^her brother is called Matt, not Lat.
:) |
Ouch! I hope all of you have up to date tetnus shots.
|
yeah, stapling one's finger HURTS... i managed to place one into my hand at work last summer... and not the usual kind either. We had barbed staples for sticking things upto the rather flimsy card-boardy things that were on the walls to affix posters and such too. I was affixing a rather spiffy looking AMD Athlon poster to a rather flimsy peice of wall-stuff and was holding the bottom corner with my other hand so i could staple to it without it moving... without thinking i stapled the first 3 corners, then with my hand still behind the bottom corner i stapled that corner too... 3/4" barbed staple HURT when they contact your hand... that was certainley not fun to remove.
(hides before being bashed for blatent stupidity) |
i remember stapling my thumb with a staple gun.... that was fun... i was younger, and was holding the thing upside down. snap! and i jump back going "what the...." the dumb thing was it hurt more coming out than going in.
|
Sorry but I carnt stop laughing.:D
|
are we talking about stupid stapler stunts?
i've got a doozy one time, i was very young, 9 or 10, i think, it was my first time using a staple gun i was up a ladder putting up a backdrop for a play i put the stapler to the wall, pulled hte trigger, but wasn't ready for the recoil (i was a very weak child) it shocked me, i stumbled backwards, and fell off the ladder that wasn't fun |
I got drunk once and stapled my finger for the hell of it...
Moral of that short-story? Never get drunk and have a stapler anywhere near your reach...You'll swear it was one of your friends and might even beat the shit out of them... |
Quote:
I did it a few times before I realised what was causing the pain though! :D |
ROFLMFAO @ all the stories of pain and suffering :D
