what do you do if.... Norton Internet Security won't let me connect to the internet?
please help. i just started having this problem today. whenever i log on to the internet, my internet call manager thing in the systray has a red light which means you should be connected but there is somethign wrong. (i just use that to make sure the connection is good). i cant use netscape 7.0 or IE but when i disable the personal firewall from the Norton internet security, the light turns green and i can view sites. i didn't change any settings. so the problem is that i can be attacked easier by hackers, and i dont wanna have to sacrifice safety. help me.

Use Zonealarm. Or, you could just as easily realize that you are in no danger if this is a simple personal computer, so a firewall is just a waste of resource.
|
Then how come internet security has blocked several "malicious attacks" when I've been online and it works correctly?
|
just use zonealarm. its better. and free.

Ok whatever. Where is the site. I am too lazy to look.

http://www.zonelabs.com/
i can't say i use a firewall though. there's a huge big one i have to go through anyway... |
I've used zonealarm for a little while now. The only thing I think is missing is the ability to quickly enable/disable the firewall. The only way I've found to disable it is to actually exit the program.
