Just been published for my first skin :)

Hope you like it !

Zanzamp

:p

Jellby 16th November 2002 14:08

Nice one, indeed :up:

There are a couple of things I don't like very much, though: EQ/PL buttons and shuffle/repeat. I'd renew the whole shufrep.bmp :)

Mr Jones 16th November 2002 16:11

Nice skin, I reviewed it, if it had just a little more detail as to what button does what it'd be right up there.

dimichan 16th November 2002 16:30

Very nice job indeed!

Whoa, I get to be the first in the thread to say welcome to skinlove! :D

dam 16th November 2002 16:59

Not really my type of skin, but good work. Like Jellby said the shuf rep buttons ruin the skin.

Hey. I wanted to say that.

Shpataga 16th November 2002 22:28

Thanks guys :)

@Jelby & Dam :
I know why you feel that about the Shuf/rep buttons. It has just become obvious to me right now. I couldn't see it at first because those little squares and circles (with a little rainbow on the last) are very important elements of the game and Zanzarah players would recognize them at first sight and "smile" at them. (they're the spell levels of the fairies and quite rare to obtain). So yes, they do not fit the skin for 99,9% of the people who will see the skin. But for the 00,1% that know the game, trust me, those are buttons they will play the most with :D !

@Mr Jones :
I really was amazed at your reviews, marks (stars) and all those nice comments really are encouraging me to go on and make more Winamp skins.

@Dimichan :
Did you mean Zanzamp is a love-skin ? :p

Anyway, thanks to you all guys for this warm welcome...

Schuweet skin. :up: Very original, love the cbuttons. :winamp:

skinme! 16th November 2002 23:14

Vvvvvery nice skin there. It looks a feast of features and well worth the ratings. Welcome to skinlove (nickname for this forum from the old days when it was called that).

StillWater 17th November 2002 00:41

I don't like the look of the shuffle/repeat buttons too much either, but if they're an allusion to the gamer then that's fine. The PL stacks/however, are horrible. Not the unpressed ones - the unpressed ones look great, but when you press them - well, they're just like the base skin ones but a rather ugly colour :(. I'm also not too fond of the green text - but that might also be an allusion to the game.
But the rest of the skin is great. It's a shame that so many things haev been left unlabelled, and \//\X buttons would have been nice, but it's still great :up: :up: The animations are great, especially the EQ bars :)
I hope you post your next skins here (whether completed or in-progress)

Shpataga 17th November 2002 01:48

@Dawg4Life2K1 & skinme! :
Thanks for your welcomme you too :) !

@¤db¤ :
Yes you're right, the "inside" Playlist buttons is the same as the basic Amp but with only a green gradient layer :o and it's a thing I knew was not that good but couldn't find any solution so it stayed that way !
As for the green text, it's not an allusion to the game, but more to nature.
Please, what is the \//\X thing :igor: ??? I need to know if I don't want to have it missing on my next skin.
Otherwise, I really appreciate your support too and you really have a keen eye, but a good critic on what is missing and it does help a lot too.

To all, I wish to say I really was not waiting for such good welcomes on my first skin, and considering the time I spent understanding how the things work (now it seems easy, but at the beginning : :eek: !!!) it is going to give me courage to go into the selection/mask/layer madness again...

they would be the minimize, winshade, and close buttons located on the top right portion of the titlebar of main

Shpataga 17th November 2002 02:12

Ho yes you're right... I see why now. I guess it is my beginner's vanity of trying to make a beatiful skin that I wanted people to look at and not minimize.

At least there is consistency here, because if you "windowshade" a part of the skin, then there's an ugly button that appear in the middle and say "CLICK PLEASE" :rolleyes: !

Please forgive me for not having included the \//\X thing on purpose because I didn't want people to terrorize my happy-fairy skin into the oblivion of the task-bar...

:o Don't shoot : I'm a beginner ;) and I promise I won't do it again...

He he he...

amp-phibian 17th November 2002 03:01

hell leave whatever ya want out and skin it however ya want

i was ust answering your question

hell my skins ,total of 4, havent got near the reception that this one has recieved and i developed them all here in "winamp2 skins" and for the most part tried not to leave anything out or unlabeled

do what ever you see fit to make whatever skin you wish with any design or concept in mind and don't be swayed by the hyper critical masses here

Shpataga 17th November 2002 09:22

Yeah you're right too... One should not keep in mind the perspective of star collection and mass applaudes when making a skin. I think db was right though because he made a point on something (/\\/X) that I knew beforehand would be "talked about" ;) !

Ho, and you're the guy that made "integration" : :up: :up: :up: :up: :up: !!!
I thus have to strongly disagree with you over the "near reception" you had, but the text review of the staff at Winamp said (sorry I have to remind you) :

"Just when you thought you've seen everything ..."

Isn't that the best compliment for an artist ?

(so funny when I think about it, it was one of my very first review for a skin, last week on your work, and as of yet the only opinion that has been left for Integration...)
