Current State of visualizations

I've done some searches...
Is it correct that although one can now use the winamp2 visualizations, Winamp3 has not inspired non-avs visualizations?

Also, Geiss released another great program:
http://www.winamp.com/components3/de...onentId=122130 which can load all those old Winamp2 vis'z for you. Go check it out.
