XP updates trash Winamp 3
 

The new security alerts re hackers being able to use mp3 files prompted me to download the latest critical updates for XP.

Since then Winamp won't run. I have uninstalled and downloaded the latest version (as of 20 December) and it still doesn't want to work.

A few times it bogged down on common.dll and now it doesn't like gracenote.wac (this info. according to the various system alerts that try and tell you what is wrong - unfortunately it does not help me fix things!

Any help would be appreciated - meanwhile beware if updating XP.

i've updated everything including updating winamp3 and i've had absolutely no problems so far.

Delete your entire .../Program Files/Winamp3/ directory and reinstall.

Thanks Gonzotek, this worked. For good measure I did a registry clean-up as well to remove all traces before re-installing.
