ok.. im probably being stupid, but how do i get new/change my color schemes? thanks!

CTRL+P to bring up preferences window.
In left column, scroll down to "Color Themes".
In right column, look at options.

Now, understand that certain skins may have NO color options at all there. Depends entirely on the developer. Then again certain skins contain SEVERAL color themes. This is ESPECIALLY true of the NEW version of the oh-so-awesome MMD3 skin [Component ID: 122902]. MMD3 currently has 70 color themes to choose from. Also, with MMD3, you can change color themes "on the fly", so to speak, without bringing up the preferences window, thanks to the great author of this particular skin.

Errrr... does it seem I'm "pushing" this skin? Well I am !! LOL! :D

OK... I just looked more closely and realized by this part of your question that you may be unsure of something that I take for granted. Please take no offense at this, in case I'm wrong but perhaps you are new to the concept of skins. In that case, then color themes are provided by the developers of skins. You can try any number of skins for Winamp 3x by going HERE, or, if you ALSO have Winamp 2x installed along with Winamp 3x (as I do), then try out skins developed for Winamp 2x by going HERE. Winamp 3 and Winamp 2 are entirely DIFFERENT applications developed seperately from each other, and BOTH can be installed on your puter at the same time if you choose to do so.

Trial and error, choosing skins. Also see what color options are included/available for different skins.
