New Website

I was wondering about my new website, I've done the BASIC Layout for it, but I was wondering what I should do as far as the rest of it goes? The link is... http://www.angelfire.com/realm2/sickness/index3.html , and I was looking for some creative advice. Like how I should lay out everything within that bottom table, where everything's white. The text, as far as updates goes, would be in the middle, Like | |Text| |
But i don't know how to lay out everythin on either side of it, and rather or not I should do plain text or use graphic borders around the sections that would be there. Hit counter, some front page links to appreciated sites, one of course being to the Winamp forums.
Anyways, I was wondering if you would help me out, and tell me how you guys would do it, if it were yours, because I'm trying to get creative input, I never have been good at things like this. Thanks

Don't do anything toofancy, that is the common downfall of a lot of otherwise potentially good sites. But, don't do anything too boring, either. Something fairly easy to read, easy to navigate. You get the picture. I like the layout you've got going on there; It looks good. You might get some good-looking graphics on the text seciton, but remember, nothing too obstructive or destracting.

And please, for the love of everything alive and breathing with a (relatively) sane mind, please do NOT write in Comic Sans.

it looks great so far, dude. i'm not sure exactly about the button/slogan font, but it looks alright :up:

don't bother laying out the bottom window at all - just put the content there, sensitive to what menu item you're on. think about it - what else do you really need to set out?

if you scour teh web there is a script to pu tin ur page that kills the angelfire pop-up. very handy for angelfire sites. :D

yes, but I'd immagine it's also horribly illegal. The alternative is getting real hosting (real meaning paid).

Okay, what I have so far: http://www.angelfire.com/realm2/sickness/index3.html I just added the text in the center, and Basically what it would be like on each side. Link Buttons to the sites would be vertical on the left, and a brief update summary would be on the right of the text, because of lack of better things to put there. I'm wanting to at least put a graphic border around the sections, and the text in the middle kind of like what was done here. ( http://www.pixeljunction.com ) only it wouldn't be the same graphics of course, that's just plain wrong. But something similair as far as layout goes. On each other section, Faq, etc The outlay (on each side) would be the same, but the content in the center would change with each section. Tell me what you think and what could be done, maybe as far as graphics could be done, or how I could lay out my content, or what to add to the sidelays, if you know of anything.

yeah, in the ANgelfire terms of service it says you can't remove it, or they close your page, blah blah. Also, I used to pay for this one, only like 5 bucks a month, and they gave me bandwidth and what-not, and took away the banner, as well as only 5 more megs of space. So I cancelled, lost the 5 megs, but I still have the ability to upload downloadable files, and my bandwidth. They just gave me the banner back.

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!--
function /*e*/;{
return false;
}
// -->
</SCRIPT>

So much clutter and visual distraction...whatever happened to the tried and true black background and white text?

i never liked black backgrounds on webpages. better with white, or a not very bold coloured background.

A POLITE SUGGETION:

Getting advice from everone is a good thing. Criticism is important. But, why don't you design your webpage your way first, and then take suggestions? The at least you'd have a site working, and not just a link with some temporary text.
