Ode to the Orange
I had to write an ode to an ordinary object for my Advanced English II class. My teacher thought it was very well written with a few revisions. So I'd like to share it with all of you.
Ode to the Orange Bittersweet membrane, Surrounding a sweet orb of tender honey filled pockets. Bite into it with ease, As the nectar starts to dance with your tongue its, Flavors rush your mouth, Tangy juices lash your senses. O, sun ripened sphere of delight! How you release your aroma upon a piercing blow, Striking each nose like a fist of fury, And making mouths water in an instant. |
Ode to Apple:
Bright red one, you are. Most delightful the crunch of your inner white, A godly nectar therefore comes forth. I am thinking your colors are opposite of my very kind While I delve into the ever hardening core. Now you are spent. As days draw long, you become brown. In the trash can you wait with the white cheek turned. For a vagabond to feast on your final form. |
Ode to the Slurpee
Multi-colored sugary nectar, the only good suicide, the first sip wonderful, the last frustrating leaving me pining anew How I love your Coke cherry blue raspberry mixture making one delicious whole and how I hate it when the banana is not ready (I suck at poetry!) |
