It's Nic01, just call me Nic if ya need to.

Hope it goes well :D

Jheriko, Maxpudding, ZxE, Nixa, Yathosho, etc etc.

Something tells me having a drunk to show the presets might be a bad idea...

UnConeD 18th January 2003 00:01

A bigger worry is watching out for cocktail/beer on the keyboard and other equipment :).

blazer1504 18th January 2003 08:42

Nice. please don't say you forgot to take camera with you, would be great to see AVS in club-action (from pictures atleast)

blazer1504 18th January 2003 08:45

...and if you take/took a picture with my preset(s) in it, hell, I'm gonna give you a biiiiiiig cookie ;)

Raz 18th January 2003 11:26

alcohol does create weird posts, im living proof :p my keyboard smells like beer, both the shift buttons dont work although everything else does for some reason, and post pictures please that would be great.

dirkdeftly 18th January 2003 18:13

W00T!!! yay ;)
(about me bitching about people using my presets without asking me...if it's fsk it's cool :p )

:( well just my bad luck I gues but about 10 min after the post happend, the projector shut down ???(probably overheated) :(((((((
which kINNDA RUIND IT :((((((. But the good news is I'm doin it again this friday and sometime next month to :D. I aint gettin payed or anything which is actually good because it means I can mess around and play anything I like :). So Im gonna play everyone that is on my comp. on friday. If you do not aprove of this you can still stop me if ya want ;). And yes I did miss a lot of people in that list (im gonna avoid those in the future - lists:)). but all the people Nic pointed out are definetly on my comp:D so ...

And yes I did have a cammera with me but I have no pictures of the projetions because I only took it out after the BIG dissapointment:(.
The picts are in the attachment. There are a lot of photos of turntables and shit because I need them for school. I'm the one on the first photo(starring at AVS on the screen in my room) and the last one shows my room:),or is it the orange dude painting, not sure.
Didnt sort them or anything:).

I hope everithing goes well on friday, but now I must go organise my birthday party, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! (I think Im gonna be absent minded again :D).

I just saw 3 of the worlds best VJ's on the weekend, and 3 of Australias best lighting technicians, plus 3 of the worlds top psytrance djs. About $120,000 worth of projectors across 8 screens. The lighting team completely blew my fking mind - the 30 metre fire breathing serpent swimming around the lake, the 10 metre high fire breathing dragon, - with about 100 naked fire performers creating effects that would reflect in the water below - creating a freakn awesome 'live' music visualer. Everywhere I looked (up/down/left/right) was like a complete sensory overload. WAS partying inside someone elses lucid acid dream.

Im sorry - I really can't get excited by unmixed avs in a pub. If you want to go further with vjing - there's alot more to learn than how to put on someone elses presets. Have fun finding out!!!

VisualAgnosia 20th January 2003 01:19

where abouts in Aust. lego

legohead 20th January 2003 02:09

Byron Bay - Exodus festival @ tenterfield....

Tuggummi 20th January 2003 06:46

The smaller the party group the better the party :)

And seems like in the photos that these guys HAD FUN! I wish i would be there :(

Oh and being drunk also creates nifty presets! :D

Hahah, nice post FSK! You can use my presets as much as you wish! *whispers*just mention my name to the big boys, will ya? ;)*whispers*

:blah:

cmountford 20th January 2003 18:08

Sounds cool.

Nic01: Where have you been?!?

Me???? I know I haven't posted in a while, but some of my presets are cool, too. Just try to dig up "Final Draft AVS Pack" in the AVS Presets page

anubis2003 20th January 2003 18:31

Please don't double post. Use the edit button. I have yet to see avs at any parties, but I know it would be awesome. I wish I had $2000 to buy a projector.

cmountford 20th January 2003 22:44

Jeez! Sorry! I just felt too lazy to bother editing.

We're both senior members, but I have a bit more "seniority" around here :D

Of course, anybody you ask would side with you, because you were technically right. My bad ;)

anubis2003 20th January 2003 22:59

I wasn't trying to disrespect your seniority; it just peeves me to see double posts.

fsk 29th January 2003 17:52

well i did have that gig on friday and all went well. I played AVS for about 6 hours with 3-4 shutdowns. I played on a single monitor because I didnt have the cable to connect the projector via TV-out
(it's not very plesent if winamp shuts down in the midlle of the projection, even more so if you have only one monitor:D). At first I played under windows 98 because my sound controls in XP were still on the other monitor from the last projection:). But after a couple of sistem crashes I tried using my monitor as the secondary monitor to get the sound controls (which was all OK),but then I couldnt reach the display controls which were now on the other screen:D. So I had to get it back by randomly pulling from the other screen which is not easy. Then I noticed that the cursor comes back with the selection rectangle (when i missed the window) or without it ...and the point is XP is a lot beter because only winamp crashes:D.
Anyway I played a lot of presets, like I said at least one of everyone on my comp:)(2725 presets curently installed) and people loved them, some even said that those were the best visuals they ever saw:D YAY.What they liked the most is the fact the visuals reacted to music and they obviusly didnt mind the fact that all I could do is switch to next, previous and random:D.

hey man its OK i didnt post it for you to get excited:). That party you described must have been a real blast(wish I was there):P. About that VJ part, I do it to get out every once in a while:) and free boze backstage is nice to:D. I do play my presets as well, there's just not enough of them for the whole night:). And yes I know there is a lot more to learn, there is allways a lot more to learn:).
What I cant understand is why were you there if you think it was borring, I mean there is a clear shot of you on picture 11 :D
(im sooo bad:D).

This has to be my lognest post I ever wrote, probably the most borring one as well:D.

Jaak 29th January 2003 18:20

YAY!
Good job, keep it up and say **** on minor (or major) difficulties!
HEH! And winamp is killing AVS, sad...

3dino 29th January 2003 18:26

3-4 shutdowns? normaaaal! lol (windows xp). I had the same problems and than the beamer blow up ;(

what do I do if I can’t find a microphone at the club?

Ches Dragon 30th January 2003 08:00

Get 'Dragon - Anarchy' I would well imagine it would be a nice pack to watch

Tuggummi 30th January 2003 08:29

Maybe you should next time pick the visuals one by one and test about 10 times of switching between them. The goal is obviously select presets that don't crash your winamp :)

Again, if it's not that important event it probably doesn't matter much, but changes favor of the prepared mind ;)

T-CUT 30th January 2003 12:13

Rovastar 2nd February 2003 23:39

:) best VJ's in the world. :)

Still waiting to see a good one. :) I can often point at the screen and say 'that was out of time', etc.

I need to offer a reward I think on vjforums for seeing a good VJ. :)

Well actually I agree - most are pretty lame. This was altogether awesome though.
