Port Fowarding

I have seen similar threads of people with this problem, but mine is different.
First off I am attempting to make my own server on a computer running Windows ME, with a network, and ZONEALARM firewall, if this is not possible tell me so I don't work endlessly.

I can listen to my own station inside my network, but not from outside

I get the standard error:
<01/24/03@21:04:39> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<01/24/03@21:04:41> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: **.***.**.***:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out))

I tried to foward ports 8000 and 8001 to the DNAS, but apparently it's not possible in ZONEALARM (do I need to upgrade to the pro version to do this?)

After that I turned off the firewall and the network, but it still cannot see my station.

So I looked around for another way to foward the ports and I can't find anything.

Would it just be better for me to switch to windows 2000?

Thankyou

Check out the Sticky post titled:

Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled:
Routers, Firewalls, and Networks. Oh My! -> Software -> ZoneAlarm

See other sections as necessasy.

I took a quick scan at the linked site from above and could't locate the directions to do port opening. Hopefully your searching will be better. I did notice a forum, such as this one, where you can post your port opening question if necessary.

thanks,

as it turns out you cannot foward ports using the free version of zonealarm, they just want my money

does anyone know of a good free firewall that allows port fowarding?

I figured it out, but it had nothing to do with the firewall
Since I have a network I had to change the port from 8000 to 1022

hmm, that doesn't make any sence at all.
