Help a newbie? :-D

alright, i use windows XP, i have a wireless network connection ( to my computer downstairs) when i try to broadcast i get the error

"[yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 24.195.205.28:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out))"

i have changed the Yport to 666, now i hear everyone saying make sure the gateway or something needs to be set to port 8000, or 8001 how do i do this? would this be the problem i am having? and that ip address isnt mine

i know this has been asked a million times, but i just dont know how to changed the gateway port, or whatever

Are the necessary ports open in your firewall and are they being forwarded to the DNAS machine?

Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps.

Check out your hardware documentation for port-forwarding specifications.

Question: is 24.195.205.28 your IP, if not then you are behind a proxy, usually implemented by your ISP, this is well known to cause problems with YP services.

how would i go bout fixin that?
