OK Shoutcast is all setup and I'm ready to go.!!
Can someone explain how to go about telling people about my radio station so they can listen.. is there a way of displaying it so they can hear me?
|
I set it up with the 15 step easy guide...
How do I advertise my station.. It told me to keep Localhost under Address because the DNAS is on the same computer?? |
I need HELP BAD....
I have shoutcast setup and everything is ready. I give this link http://24.100.130.109:8000/listen.pls and my friends say they cannot hear anything??
Why is that?? [Merged: Redundant --Sawg] |
Any errors in the server log when they try to connect?
Status page shows it is up. Seems to buffer a lot (but that may be my connection). What connection speed do you have? The problem might be them. (My campus firewall is silly, someone else will have to try and listen). |
This is MY LOG..

Any help would be great |
I don't see any errors.
"yp added me" means your station information (station name, bitrate, maximum number listeners, current number listeners, currently playing song, ...) has been added to the SHOUTcast yp (yellow pages) directory. "yp touched" means your station information (station name, bitrate, maximum number listeners, current number listeners, currently playing song, ...) has been updated in the SHOUTcast yp directory. It can take up to 15 minutes after the first "yp touched" message before your station appears from a SHOUTcast yp search. You are probably not giving out the right link. DNAS link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport Listen link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport/listen.pls Replace yourDNASip with the ip of the DNAS (SHOUTcast server) and yourDNASport with the DNAS port (default is 8000) Also, machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. See RFC1918 for more information. Scroll down and look for the section titled: 3. Private Address Space How to find your ip address (Part I). How to find your ip address (Part II). Finally, you can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though :)) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services. Then, your links would be: DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls |
