Any Winamp Shoutcast broadcasters please help ?

I signed u my old domain to broadcast
I got a trial key to broadcast, anybody out there can elp me set up ?
Maybe from scratch, i havent used this service in over a year,
Someone set it up for me origionally, I have done something wrong.

trial key?

shoutcast is freeware, there should be no need for key's or serial numbers. check the faq at the top of this forum there is a guide posted there that can take you step by step to setup SHOUTcast.

I think I can clear this up. Sounds, you're one of those people us computer users call noobs. I think you need to sit down for about 4 years, and learn some of this stuff. You ask us questions, but we know the answer is as foreign to you as Kuwait. So we will not bother answering you anymore. It will save both you and us time. Thank you for your cooperation.

that was unnecissary, I can clear this up, you are one of those people us intelligent computer users call a troll. I think you can sit down for an indefinite amount of time in a locked cell with no windows. leave these forums before i get you banned.

[edit]sounds, your questions will be answered (just not by me, as i am too inexperienced to help.

Spelling/Grammar

I feel this post is necessary also.

The following corrections are being made to Sounds' previous posts.

Spelling:
t = it
origionaly = originally
scratc = scratch
elp = help

Improper grammar:
"I signed u my old domain to broadcast"
I renewed my old domain, in order to broadcast

"anybody out there can elp me set up?"
can anyone, out there, help me set it up?

"Maybe from scratch, i havent used this service in over a year,
Someone set it up for me origionally, I have done something wrong."
I haven't used this service in over a year. Someone else set this up originally. I must have done something wrong.

"I didnt set this up origionaly, hope to get it set up again soon "
I didn't set this up originally. I hope to get it setup again, soon.

I won't bother commenting on the last sentence.

ok, so he used a non-standard form of english. what is wrong with that? you are treading on thin ice, and i have a blowtorch.

FesterHead 7th February 2003 14:53

Try http://www.no-ip.com

It's another dynamic DNS service that, hopefully, you'll find easier to setup.

sounds 7th February 2003 20:43

And domain in the regristration area of ****** as required
It says i connected allright. Status reads connected to ****** service
Says my domain is pointing to 194.165.161.111 ?
I don't have enough knolege to set this up myself unfortunately,
Not sure what else to do, see ya !
The Shoutcast DNAS GUI software seems messed up too :(

Event log:

Tom 8th February 2003 01:31

The DNAS looks fine, now just connect the source (i.e. Winamp w/ SHOUTcast DSP). Lots of help can be found in: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....threadid=70404 (i.e. - How to set up an Internet Radio station - 15 Steps to setting up SHOUTcast.)

Tom thanks,

I started the DNAS GUI? And on mouse over it read: No source connected
I started winamp with the plugin and changed the Address to 194.165.161.111 And im connected,
The Shoutcast source status is sending bytes - Right so far ?
Where dose the ****** Come in i cant recall it.
And should http://sounds.******.com be enough info for listeners ?

Tom 8th February 2003 02:01

If the DNAS and DSP are on the same machine you would be better off leaving the address in the DSP to localhost. This way when your ISP assigned you a new IP you would not be forced to change that setting. As far as what to give listeners you will need to include the port in your link as well. Try: http://sounds.******.com:8000/listen.pls

sounds 8th February 2003 02:34

Well that was scary..

Tom,
I clicked your liknk and my winamp opened with the plugin
I pasted it in my browser and same thing happened
I dont know if the deerfield software is running right
I recall it flashing on the task bar when it's working
But allmost there, are you on icq or anything ?

Setting up broadcast

Tom,
I used http://www.sounds.******.com:8000/
Got to the SHOUTcast D.N.A.S. Status page myself no problem
But anyone i asked to try it said they got nothing.
Im on that page and when i click listen at the top my winamp opens
this is the link behind it http://www.sounds.******.com:8000/listen.pls
With all my details in it, i cant tell what im doing wrong sorry.
Nobody can find me anyway, so its pointless ?
