If the DNAS and Winamp/DSP combo are on the same machine, use "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" as the server ip in the DSP configuration.

If the DNAS and Winamp/DSP combo are on different machines but on the same lan, use the lan ip of the DNAS as the server ip in the DSP configuration.

If the DNAS and Winamp/DSP combo are on different lans, use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS as the server ip in the DSP configuration.

Also, make sure the corrcts ports, portBase and portBase+1 (default portBase is 8000), are forwarded to the correct lan machine. Check your router documentation on how to forward ports.

open an iexplore window,
type
http://192.168.0.1
this will bring you to the admin for the router,
look under advanced/ ports, click ports, you will see a port table, forward the ports you plan to use to your pc, if you dont know what your local pc's ip addy is then look under matinence/ DHCP table,..
