cassette to mp3

I have my putter hooked up to my stereo. Can I rip cassettes to mp3 or do I have to have a another program. Like to one I use to rip cd's to mp3, by the way I have Cdex :confused:

1. Connect the Record Out from your Cassette or Preamp to the Line In (not the Mic) on the computer.
2. Win9x/ME-Volume\Properties. Make sure Line In is not muted. WinXP-Start\Control Panel\Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices\Sounds and Audio Devices\Volume\Device Volume\Advanced. Make sure Line In is not muted.
3. CDex\Tools\Record From Analog In.
