New user struggling!

Hi All

I've just got broadBand here in the UK. I'm using version 1.4 pro. I can rip tracks OK, but when I choose the option to 'play tracks in winamp'...winamp loads and I can see the title in winamp...but there's no graphic equaliser bars in the window leading me to believe that the sound isn't 'getting through'. Can anyone help?

1. v1.4pro of what?
2. what stream?
3. where are you ripping the tracks from? cd? a stream?
4. do you have a firewall/have you blocked the shoutcast ports?
5. what version of winamp?

Is this a SHOUTcast issue, a Winamp2/3 issue, or a 1.4pro whatever issue?
