MiniDisc recording Song Title text Plugin?
 

I don't know if a suggestion like this has been posted before or if there is a plugin that does this as far as I know there isn't. But I have a proposal for a new plugin that perhaps someone could make a reality that I think would be very useful. A plugin for when you're recording MP3s on a MiniDisc using a Digital/Optical Soundcard that will using the ID3 tags on the MP3s create the song titles or send the song titles to the MiniDisc recorder automatically so that you don't have to manually title them. I'm not really a programmer but I would think that this is doable?

I would love to add this functionality to WinCue, but unfortunantly I have not found out how to implement it. Controlling the S/PDIF output would require total control of the soundcard at hardware level, something which Windows drivers does not allow you to do. If the people writing drivers would allow programmers to control the S/PDIF ouput at protocol level it might be possible to implement such featuers. I think also another problem might ne that the metadata (text, song title etc.) sent varies between MiniDisc manufaturers.

WinCue currently supports automatic titling of MiniDiscs through the WinRemote hardware interface, but I am hoping to add support for more titling devices in he future.
