Talking with backgroud music and static
I have searched the forum for information on the static problem I have been haveing along with the buffer problem. my server is a p4 1.6 gig 256k 1 gig of ram 40 gb EIDE HD and a 100 Mb nic co located on multiple redundent oc lines. I am broadcasting to the server from a dual p3 700 system with 256 mb ram 100 gb HD 8mb cache. I have setup my DSP to run through the mic instead of winamp so I can talk while broadcasting music. when users connect they say there is alot of static and it tends to buffer. I have checked the servers bw usage and it never goes over 400 KB per sec with all the stuff running on it. I broadcast at 96kb/ss and have gone all the way down to 64kb/s and the problem stays the same. Any Ideas on how to remove this static? it is almost like the music is playing through the mic. the sound card is a Monster M300. also has anyone tried to do a virtual sound card or run multiple sound cards and broadcast a talkshow with it? like a netmeeting conversation over the radio? any reply would be helpfull thank you ahead of time :-)
