Please help...

People cant seem to connect to me. I set up everything right, and I am broadcasting....I have a conection through my LAN, so I dont know if I have a firewall. One guy said the reason was: Admin required for use. Another guy got conected for 5 seconds then it stopped.

http://208.63.214.190:8000 -> Cannot find server or DNS Error

1. Is your DNAS (SHOUTcast server) on?

2. Are you using a Winamp/DSP combo (source) to send tunes to the DNAS?

3. Any errors logged in the DNAS?

4. Did you follow any of the setup tutorials?

Note: I'm guessing you left the portBase at the default 8000
If you changed the portBase value, please re-post your DNAS link.

For giggles, please enjoy linkbot:
DNAS link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport/listen.pls

Replace yourDNASip with the ip of the DNAS (SHOUTcast server) and yourDNASport with the DNAS port (default is 8000)

Also, machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.
Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.

See RFC1918 for more information. Scroll down and look for the section titled:
3. Private Address Space

How to find your ip address (Part I).
How to find your ip address (Part II).

Finally, you can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though :)) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services.
Then, your links would be:
DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls

I did set it up right. My friend online who owns his own radio showed me how to set it up. this is logged in my GUI as an error

<03/14/03@23:06:06> [main] error opening source socket! FATAL ERROR! Some other process is using this port!

See if this thread helps.

If not, try another portBase and/or find and close whatever is using your particular choice for portBase.
