What do I have to do?
 

I have been trying to get this shoutcast thing to work but I cant get past the connect button.

Question #1 -
what do I enter for the address box?

Question #2 - What is the deal with the password thing?

Question #3 - Do I have to have a folder just for song to be played on the net?

Question #4 - Do I need a playlist to broadcast?

Q: what do I enter for the address box?
A: The ip of your DNAS. If the DNAS and Winamp/DSP combo are on the same machine, use "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" (without the quotes). if the DNAS and Winamp/DSP combo are not on the same machine but on the same lan, then use the lan IP. Else, use the real, world-visible DNAS ip.

Q: What is the deal with the password thing?
A: No password = no braodcast. The password is defined in the DNASs sc_serv.ini/conf file

Q: Do I have to have a folder just for song to be played on the net?
A: Only if you're doing on-demand content. See below.

Q: Do I need a playlist to broadcast?
A: Not always, but it's the easist method and the tutorials follow this method.
