Authentication and Streaming

Hello,

1) How can I add authentication (username/password) without a hassle?
2) I have a friend set up as a server and I have the plugin installed on my computer. Now won't it still be using up bandwidth to get the music from my computer to the server to the receipients? Would I upload my music to my friends computer?

Thanks,

Pickle Juice.

1. Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on 'authentication'.

Look for a post by RadiOK titled:
How to protect the stream with user and pass?

Note: Other search criteria may yield more results.

Q: Now won't it still be using up bandwidth to get the music from my computer to the server to the receipients?
A: Yes, you will consume upload bandwidth and your freind will consume download bandwidth.

Q: Would I upload my music to my friends computer?
A: Only if you want to support on-demand streaming
