  • Your caps lock button is stuck.
  • Please spell words out. We're providing technical support, not chatting.
  • The maximum number of listeners is governed by your upload bandwidth and your streaming bitrate.
    Check out the Sticky post titled:
    SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME!

    Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled:
    1. DNAS Stuff -> Bandwidth -> DSLReports Bandwidth tester(Only be concerned with the UPLOAD bandwidth)
    2. DNAS Stuff -> Bandwidth -> CasterClub's Listener Calculator
    3. DNAS Stuff -> Bandwidth -> CasterClub's Bandwidth Calculator

    Use 1 to find your upload.
    Use 2 to determine the number of listeners you can support at your selected streaming bitrate.

    Jay (KXRM) also has a Bandwidth Calculator.
  • If you have access to the source (such as a Winamp/DSP combo) then yes. What you put and play in Winamp is what you broadcast.
  • Yes, bandwidth is bandwidth. Many web hosting services just allow web content, not services to used on their servers. Conatct them to see if they'll let you run a DNAS (SHOUTcast server) on their servers.

so if a webhost allows us to put our mp3s or wav files on their server then we don't need to be online when the radio is being broadcasted is that a true statement or am i talking out of me butt:S

If you put your mp3s on a webhost that allows that, you won't be broadcasting. You'll be providing mp3s for download.

Please read your webhosting ToS and/or ask the webhost administrators.
