Winamp 2.91 Bug: Gap in Loops
when i only play one mp3 or wav file in a loop (ie a single drumloop sample) there is a noticable gap between the loop! this was once a problem in older winamp 2.x version but got fixed sometime and my previous installed winamp 2.81 played loops without a gap. life was wonderfull, even more as i noticed winamp 2.91 is out, i gladly installed it right away (over my previous install) and what do i have to hear ? yes, thats right a gap between loops! somehow this bug made it back into winamp!
summary: winamp 2.81 NO gap between loops (single audio mp3/wav) winamp 2.91 GAP between loops (installed over previous, no settings changed) greetings from vienna akumajo |
Can't reproduce.
By "loop", you mean you place a single audio file (eg. a 4 bar drum loop sample) in the playlist and play it with Repeat mode on? Prefs -> Plugins -> Output -> DirectSound Output -> config: Buffering tab: Increase "buffer ahead on track change" value. Other tab: Checkmark "remove silence". Increase "cut off" value. Keep increasing both values until no gaps can be heard. I've got "buffer ahead" set to 1000ms, and "cut off" set to -50dB Works a treat for me. |
ahh thanks for your tweaking tips, seems i messed up the fact that when i install over a previous install the settings wont get deleted... without those settings i had gaps in 2.81 too ;)
anyhow it works all perfect now, i use directsound output now (i always used waveout... at least i kinda understand the difference between those two methods now...) and i really like that "total time played" info ;) l8rz akumajo |
