EQ not recognizing CD's
 

My cd's will play fine but the eq does not work with the cd's. I've checked the preferances in the audio cd recognition and checked the direct sound and wave-out. Also the green & red bar graph does not operate when playing a cd.

In Winamp > Ctrl+P > Audio > CD playback > checkmark "Enable CD audio extraction" > close & restart Winamp

Not all CDROMs/Players are compatible with digital extraction so if you hear no sound or get an error message uncheck "Enable CD audio extraction"

What is your Windows OS?
Some other system specs might also prove useful here
(cpu, ram, mobo, soundcard, cd-rom make/model)

Did you checkmark "Enable CD audio extraction" in Prefs -> CD Playback?
Note: You need to close & reopen Winamp3 for this to take effect.

Running Win 98, AMD XP 2200 cpu, 512 ram, Hurcules gamesurrand muse XL
sound card, Ampton mobo, Liteon ltn526s cd-rom, G-force4 ti4200 video card.
CD audio extraction is checked in cd audio playback.

Hmm . . . you shouldn't really be running Win98 on that system.
Probably an aspi related problem.

Try running aspicheck first, to see if there's any problems with the current aspi layer.

Thanx DJ Egg that fixed the problem. The EQ & enhanced DFX really woke-up my CD's.
