what ports do u need open to run shoutcast
ok i have a shoutcast server which is behind a very strict firewall
so far, the net can access the server only on port 8000 the server can access the net on port 80 i thought this is all you need, port 8000 for people to stream port 80 to connect to the shoutcast directory. what other ports do i need for people to listen??? because i have this in my log: <05/07/03@15:58:48> [dest: 81.68.128.114] starting stream (UID: 22)[L: 1]{A: WinampMPEG/2.9}(P: 0) <05/07/03@15:59:10> [dest: 81.68.128.114] connection closed (0 seconds) (UID: 22)[L: 0]{Bytes: 222690}(P: 0) people disconnect immediantly from the stream thanx |
You need portBase (default is 8000) for sure and portBase+1 if you're going to have folks outside your firewall source the DNAS.
FYI: http://www.thedigitaldream.co.uk:8000 DNAS visible  http://www.thedigitaldream.co.uk:8000/listen.pls connects  32kbps 22kHz mono coming in well. I experienced no buffering nor clipping for 2+ minutes. |
