Minibrowser URL Update
Hi, this might be a duplicate again, but, is there a way, besides putting in a meta tag or something and making the page refresh on its own, to make the stream force the minibrowser to refresh on song change?
Isn't that the default mini-browser behavior?
hmm
Doesn't seem to be. When you first connect, naturally it goes to the URL, but thats it. At least on my winamp, it never refreshes again unless I do it manually. :(
Have you enabled title updates in the DSP and checked auto next to url?
I don't use winamp/shoutcast dsp as my source; I am using sc_trans. :igor:
odd I use sc_trans and on song change it refreshes the page.
Wierd.... cause... hmm.. I have tested it on mine... the browser just stays to the same page.. do I have to use the URLFormat thingie? or... cause I am not using URLFormat right now in the sc_serv.... Or maybe its just my winamp?
well I do manually put in a song url so that may be the difference.
you can do this by going to http://yourhost:8000/admin.cgi?pass=...ni-Browser.com in your browser, that's how I did it until I wrote my sc_trans administration script. |
You know, I noticed that it DOES refresh the page, its just that it refreshes it too early before the title changes on the server and a good 30 seconds before you start hearing the next song... I can build a work-around for this, but... I would rather it update the page at the right time :/

The Internet is not reliable for real-time transactions.
yea I beat this because radio toolbox actually recieves the next song title before the listener does so on refresh it's sitting there waiting.
Well, if radio toolbox has grabs it from XML, then yeah, it should have it before hand. The listeners recieve the updated metadata kinda late compared to the time that the server updates its song. I could just write a small program to poll the SC status... and when it sees the song title change... make it update through the URL... or.. wait like 30 seconds then update through that URL....
