Everything seems to work, am listed in SC dir, but nothing happens when I hit 'play'

I've opened up ports 8000 and 8001 on my router, and the shoutcast directory lists me; however, when I add the location in another instance of winamp or click the link listed in the directory, winamp briefly flashes http://returned: 0 in the title window and then stops. Similar to when you try and play a file that isn't there.

Essentially, everything seems to work fine, except that trying to play the location returns nothing. I've checked to see if the IP matches, and it does... am I missing something stupid here? I get the feeling that I am. :igor:

whats ur ip and port

maybe we can then test for you?

zygotic 22nd May 2003 14:15

axolotl.zapto.org:8000

If I try just the IP as well, it recognizes the DNS name afterwards, so I'm pretty sure it's not that?

I'm not even getting a connect to it, is your source up? what does what output are you getting from your SC DNAS server?

It keeps saying it gets touched... I have no idea. That's the problem I'm having as well, I simply can't connect to it.

Your station does not show from an http://www.shoutcast.com search on 'musique'.

http://axolotl.zapto.org:8000 -> Cannot find server or DNS Error

fixed shoutcast link

works fine if the tune in button is clicking on shoutcast.com:

http://www.thedigitaldream.co.uk/ima...outcast010.gif

but the ip ur giving out is wrong

zygotic 22nd May 2003 16:06

Interesting...

When I click the tune in button it shows the IP but nothing plays. But if you got it to work then I suppose it's right?

Thanks for your help guys, I truly appreciate it!

Peeking into the pls from http://www.shoutcast.com (your station appeared from my search this time) we have:

DNAS link: http://66.30.77.76:8000
Listen link: http://66.30.77.76:8000/listen.pls

96kbps 44kHz stereo coming in well.

I experienced no buffereing.

I'm at home now and the wife is sleeping, so I didn't get a chance to crank it up to see if there is any clipping.

zygotic 22nd May 2003 16:54

No problem, so long as I can get the bloody thing to work on at least a fundamental level! :D

I was hesitant to add my IP because it's dynamic... so I signed up at No-IP as it's supposed to always link to my IP even if it changes; unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work properly because I get the http: returned 0 error in winamp again.

It's showing the correct IP... if I manually add the IP into winamp it gives no errors, and axolotl resolves into the same IP ok, but if I add axolotl to winamp, I get the http error.

Anyway, thanks again!
