If you're having issues with RealOne

To: All users who have installed RealOne for buring CD's to your hard drive but stil would LOVE to have Winamp open these files and NOT Real Player:
Regarding: Winamp won't play .rmj file assocations
Status: Work around that is SURE to WORK!

Hello,
I've recently installed RealOne program so that I could burn CD's to my HD. Upon completing the process, I soon realized that RealOne & NOT winamp was opening these files! :(

After researching these forums and finding URL's regarding plugin's to use, to which I had no luck in using, I spent a good 30 minutes or so fidling around the inside of the RealOne interface and found MY SOLUTION and thought I'd post here for those who have suffered the same fate.

So, if you'd like to use RealOne to burn CD's but WANT TO KEEP Winamp as the default player, make sure your settings in RealOne are as follows:

Tools/Preferences/CD
Where it reads: "When Saving a CD to My Library" you want to make sure the setting is set to: Audio MP3

go ahead and burn the CD and once it's complete, access the folder/file and click on any of the tracks you'd like to listen to.
Winamp SHOULD OPEN the file. Also, you should notice one of the many Winamp Icons associated with the tracks.

This has worked for me without failure!

So, good luck to all!

Later,

Mr1BadBoy

PS: one additional option to CONSIDER checking is:
Tools/Preferences/Content/Media Type
DESELECT all file associations that RealOne is currently set to.

.rmj files

That fix is great for burning new CD's to your hard drive, but what if you already have a ton of .rmj's that you want to use with winamp? I really don't want to go back and redo my collection.

Did you mean "rip", not "burn"?

Tara plugin supports RMJ format,
then again, you shouldn't be using RealOne to rip CD's in the first place.

.rmj files

That was before I used winamp. I actually used Real one to load about 200 CD's on a hard drive. I also have the same format on about 7 or 8 cd's. The procedure listed previously appears to work, but is there a way to do an entire directory?
