Irritating problem
Alright, this one has annoyed me long enough. When I click on a link to open a Shoutcast stream in my browser, WinAmp opens properly but the stream does not play. The information for the stream is not displayed in the info box, and clicking the play button doesn't help. However, if I manually copy the link to the .pls file from the webpage, click Open>Location, and manually paste the file in, it works fine. It's an easy workaround, but it's irritating that the streams aren't launching properly.
I've already upgraded from WinAmp 2 to WinAmp 3, deleted and reinstalled the whole thing, and rebooted a dozen times...no help. Any advice? XP Pro, IE 6, WinAmp 3 |
start>settings>control panel>internet options>delete temp files
delete the tempory files, close winamp, re open it, then test :) |
Damn, it didn't even occur to me to check that. I had 2 gigs of temp files on my computer, and after clearing them WinAmp worked fine.
Thanks! |
no problem
im not surprised u didn't check it, most people dont see that winamp has anything to do with tempory internet files, but it does. anyway glad it works, if it happens again, just delete ur temp internet files :P |
