sc_trans logfile
I saw in the readme file that it suggested that I can use the HUP signal to close and reopen the log file to help with logfile rotation.
How would I do this? Send the signal then rename the log file? Is there a way to make to only keep the last 24 hours or last week. I want to avoid abrupt intturptions in the log file. |
open the log file every week, delete what u dont want, then save
then the sc_trans_linux script will carry on logging as normal why do u want to cut it down anyway, log files remain small with thousands of lines |
I plan to write a front end that will need to read the log file. I figure a smaller file will cut down on the time it takes for the script to run.
Also, one time I accidentally deleted a mp3 that was about to play and sc_trans got stuck and the log file ballooned up to 200mb. |
57MB logfile takes approx 1.5 secs to process on my server
just have the front end u make fix up the logfile |
ouch thats not good!
