Help!
I just installed DSL, and now I can't broadcast. I just changed my encoder info. to a higher quality mp3 and such. But now I get the error:
<06/12/03@10:35:50> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak) <06/12/03@10:35:50> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 65.173.77.140:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection refused)) What gives? |
Open port 8000 on your firewall/router.

 Best To check the Documentation That came with your router/firewall
|
I'm new to the whole dsl thing. I don't have a firewall, so how do I change that on my router? by the way, what is a router?
|
a router: a box that distributes internet conections to multiple computers
a firewall: restricts access for programs, ports, and hackers. What router do you have. Do you even have a router? |
I guess I don't have either one of those. What could my problem be? I broadcasted just fine with my good ole 56k modem. I havent changed anything except my mp3 quality.
|
are you behind a proxy?
|
Maybe, I don't know. Like I said, new to dsl and all. Can I check some how?
|
Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps.

I guess I am behind a proxy because the IP that it showed is not the same as I get at whatismyip.com. What can I do to broadcast? Why could I before, but not anymore? confused:(
