I've got a static IP...

I don't want that everybody sees it...what can I do?

FesterHead 13th June 2003 15:58

Don't broadcast.

IPs are used to direct Internet traffic.

register at noip.com that may help :D

Also if you have a firewall, its all right to expose you ip address. Look I do it all the time; see signature!

even if u cover up an ip address with a hostname, people can still find it out by pinging the hostname

its hard to keep an ip private these days.

i dont see the point in keeping it private as its easy to find the ip address of anyone these days, and also, most sites you go on will log your ip address

if you want i can create a playlist file for u like this:

http://www.thedigitaldream.co.uk/your_station.pls

upto u

that playlist will link to your shoutcast server, it will always point to ur latest tracks

DJHotIce 13th June 2003 20:09

Yea, at least 62% tracks your IP address. well my figuring is apache is used in 62% of all websites, and they track your IP address. Others prob do the same :D . So prob more than likely 100%
