will future releases of winamp play .mov files, u know, quicktime, or does it not have permission to play these types of files???

i personally, cant stand quicktime, but would like to see winamp play .mov files :P

.MOV is copyright of Apple and if Nullsoft would go through the troubles of adding it they would have to go through the legal crap. If you honestly want it though, there should be a few plugins on the plug-ins page, though some may require QT to be installed for the codec or search the web for 'Quicktime Alternative'.

There are three plugins in that list which support MOV, but sadly they also support AVI & MPEG, with no option to unassociate them . . . so this causes a bit of a problem with the default video plugin.
It's also on my personal wishlist that someone would make a strictly QT/MOV only plugin, or the authors of the available plugins would make it so you can associate/unassociate filetypes in the plugin config.

I agree with you, I want only one player for all filetypes, so I don't need to use RealPlayer and QuickTime.

That would make me ever so happy - I despise having to install QT just to play some random MOV that I've downloaded off of the net. Not that I'm the biggest fan of Winamp doing Video, but if it could... well, that'd be just one more great thing about the program, among a million.
