Hulk Makes Money. Nervous Public Worries There Will Be A Sequel

This past weekend, 'The Incredible Hulk' pulled in 62.1 million dollars at the box office. That staggering number, coupled with the fact that comic book movies are popular right now, has some movie-goers uptight about the future.

"I'm scared," said one woman as she exited the theater Monday night, "That was a really bad movie. If they make a sequel, it's gonna be just as bad as this one. Maybe even worse!"

Box office analysts are trying to determine how the Hulk made so much money, given that everyone who's seen the movie hates it.

"The hype helped," said one analyst. "But that can't be all there is to it. Ishtar had hype, and it didn't make any money at all."

One psychologist suggests there may be another explanation.

"Have you heard of suppressed memories? It's my theory that movie-goers saw the Hulk on Friday, then suppressed their memories of seeing it because it was so bad. Then they saw the movie again on Saturday. This pattern might continue indefinitely, and could eventually cause the Hulk to make more money than Titanic."

Universal Pictures, the studio that produced the Hulk, would not comment on rumors of a sequel, but they did have this to say. "We're sorry."
