Problem using soutcast -
okay, i believe i have downloaded everything that i have needed to. i start up the shoutcast server and start up winamp, set everything up and connect. however, it doesn't work and this message comes up when i press connect:
"[yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 62.252.128.5:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection refused))" now, at first i thought this meant that i had a firewall, but im sure i dont. my friend said that windows xp had a built in firewall, but i un-checked the box for built in firewall (or i think i did) and it still doesnt work :( any other ideas anyone? |
are you behind a router?

whats a router?

If you're not sharing your internet connection among several PCs or you don't have a firewall up then the only other possibility is that your behind an ISP cache in which case changing Yport from 80 to 666 in sc_serv.ini/sc_serv.conf will fix this.

How do you change Yport? and where is "sc_serv.ini/sc_serv.conf"?
Sorry to annoy, appreciate the help greatly, though. |
If you accepted the default installation environment (assuming Windows machine), then the DNAS is installed in C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast
Look there for the DNASs sc_serv.ini file. Open it and look for the section (default shown below): code: |
