56k with 128 quality sound...
Ive seen a few shoutcast stations doing this...
how are they doing this... and is it possible to improve the sound from 24k output? Is it that vorbis codec or something? |
Maybe they're using the mp3pro encoder?
|
ahhh they broadcasting in mono???
if so, a mono stream at 56k will sound the same as a sterio 112k stream |
but how do you do that ? you have to make a script or is there somewhere one available ?
|
just pick a different encoding selection in the DSP plugin.

Well Im specifically looking at this one:
http://www.hot108.com/ These guys have a MAGNIFICENT stream at 56k.... and im trying to find out how they did it. |
Probably the 56kbps 44kHz mono
[edit] Doesn't sound that great. Too much low end and it clips a little. [/edit] |
I have to agree with Festerhead. It's just heavy audio compression (not like mp3, volume compression) with an already mono-oriented genre.
The highs are pretty sloppy and watery too. Chris xiradio.com |
okay i wasnt sure if there was some new amazing audio codec out there that I wasnt aware of making great sound.
So this will do... i wish I could actually write audio compression software myself... i wish i actually understood it enough to experiment with it. Thanks for your time guys.. i appreciate the assistance... p.s. dammit. |
