Tea
I just hafta say, tea is my favorite drink in the world. I drink about a pot a day and I have read waaayyy too much about it and I feel like a nerd about it sometimes. Some people have their Star Trek, some have their computers, but I have the obsession with tea. I was just wondering if anyone here had a thing for tea like I do. Or maybe if you want to get started, I could always give my opinion on some different types and such. Oh, and this also explains my sig. Muwahaha.
ummmm....ok.
Get me a brew now, i drink way to much tea also, it's a british thing. :D With the rich tea biscuits as well :D You Americans may poke fun all you like but nothing beats a good brew.
I am not British, and being in America sucks when it comes to a good cuppa tea.
I like Green herbal tea called hahomilia (it's kind of minty) and nice. The traditional tea with three sugars does me fine too ;)
I've never really liked tea, but perhaps we get some really inferior stuff here in the states. What is the good stuff?
PG tips :D
y'know, the tv advert with the walking / talking / drinking chimps :D or is this another UK thing? |
Must be a UK thing. I think we miss out on the best advertising. We have happy cows though.
Oh they disappeared ages ago :p, it's the sweaty little animated one now :hang:
aw no way man!
 I really should watch TV once in a while |
They've been gone for about 2 years :p
no way! I REALLY should watch TV once in a while! :p |
Yeah, I would say that most Americans have never had a good cup of tea. A good rule of thumb is that if it is in a bag, it is crap. the best tea is loose leaf.
That might explain why I never liked it.
I think tea is a fine obsession to have. Beats about 98.2% of the other choices for obsessions if you ask me. |
Ever since the weather turned warm, lemonaid has been my drug of choice.
Those pyramid bags make the best for me, that's it i'm making a huge brew and putting it in a flask to keep it warm :D
I have the greek mint tea cooling down in the freezer. I made stronger than usual and I will go back when it's freezing cold :D
I've never had freezing cold tea before, I think the Americans like ice tea? |
Yes, iced tea is very popular - more so than hot tea.
has iced tea got the same stuff in it as the English hot tea? Do we sell it in the UK?
Lipton iced tea, Oh god the advertising campaign worked. I should be ashamed.
Oh! I LOVE sweet iced tea! :D Freshly brewed, and not overly sweet, but not overly bitter... just right. :) Honestly, I'd take a great glass of tea over any carbonated or alcoholic drink anyday. Whenever I go to a nice restaraunt, I always get iced tea. :)
lol the only other kind of ppl who i know r obsessed with tea are chinese ppl. They have almost every kind and everywhere u go in every restaurant they always serve u tea first.
Erm... good?
verdict on tonights home made tea frozen cold - tasteless...
I should resort to using those mint tea bags instead :p don't you just love thos dangly strings from those bags? ^_^ |

My mom was English, we always had a good "pot" of loose tea strong and had with milk and sugar! And Scones!:D |
rofl, I ate 3 scones today, that was breakfast, lunch and dinner (no bullshit :D)
and I drank tea, omg, I am sooooo English habit wise ;) |
Tea and crumpets sir ;) I love crumpets myself, along with biscuits and tea.
mmm, toasted crumpets with butter melted into them, mcvities digestive chocolate biscuits and hot strong tea with two sugars
:9 |
I fallen for this new summer drink... Snapple Lime Green Tea.
It goes with everything. And it kills thirst in a New York City heart beat! It's beeen out awhile, I just didn't know it! Way good though! |
*drools* It's about time i paid a visit to the kitchen :D
Don't get me started.
The reason most other countries don't get the British and their tea is down to one thing, Liptons. They used to be one of the big companies in England, but moved in to global sales and started selling weak tea bags to the foreigners on the strength of their previous reputation. Everyone knows you can't make a decent cuppa with a Lipton's tea bag, and they encourage you to dangle the bloody things in a cup of warm water, that's no way to make tea. Lipton are almost unknown in England now Incidentally, the Turkish are the worlds biggest tea drinkers, just. UJ |
I love tea. Especially jasmine tea and green tea. :)
I like tea. Hot or cold, it doesn't matter. But if it's cold, it has to be made like they make it in the south. Nothing beats a hot summer day than a big glass of Southern iced tea with a sprig of real mint leaves!
Hot tea has to be made with an infuser and loose leaf tea. It just doesn't taste fresh any other way. My favs are chamomile, jasmine, and orange. |
Tea is my least favorite drink. Ever.
I gag any time i accidentally take a drink of any. And yes, I've had it made from loose leaf. Just as nasty tasting as any other type ive had, including sassafras tea. My favorite drink is currently SoBe. And i like all the flavores ive tried, except green tea. |
If you are in the States and you really want good, tea, you have to get it online. Also, a lot of those online places have pretty good iced tea blends as well. But, as much as I like iced tea, (hell, I am in the south) nothing beats a good assam or darjeeling or gyokuro. Mmmmmmmmmmm
