It may be worth noting that bill was a proposal and the exemptions mentioned in the bill would likely not apply to ASCAP and BMI which are independent of the copyright rate arbitration.

thx Sorcery -- what I'm looking for is the name of the act that intiated this whole rigamaru(is that actually a word :D )> I have my own opinions on what is trying to be accomplished by it all, as I'm sure others do, but I will leave that for another time, another forum. Live365 had much of this info open to public, but now you must be a registered member to even listen( when that happened I quit being a member) ,and that is how I used to keep tabs, but I've fallen off on the up keep, and was questioned on the meager 5 person server I run. So I'm tryin to get re-informed. ;)

Hi,

Perhaps you are thinking of the SWSA (Small Webcaster Settlement Act of 2002) which allows any eligible Webcaster to elect certain rates and terms adopted and to avoid a separate CARP.
