Media Library refresh

I successfully loaded all of my songs into the media library, and updated many of the tags ( make sure they're all what they're meant to be ), and I realized that WMA files don't sort the same as mp3 files. In the list, mp3 files are in the format <artist> - <title>, while WMA files just display the title, and you can't change the tags. This prompted me to convert all my WMA's to mp3 ( something i've been planning on doing, but never got around to it ). Now, after the fact, when i select all the WMA files, and hit remove from media library, they vanish, and i then add the mp3 files, so every song is mp3, and all the tags are correct. The only problem is that after i shut down Winamp, and boot it up again, all of the old WMA files are back in the library, even though they don't even exist on the computer any more. And this is in addition to the newer versions of those same files ( the mp3's ). How can i fix this problem, it's really starting to annoy me...? (note the time...2:56 am, i'm a nightowl)

HaHa... ok, i tried what you said, and it didn't work; it still loaded the old songs into the media library. This prompted me to uninstall winamp, and reinstall it. the only file was the default 'demo.mp3'. i deleted that from the media library, and restarted the app, and it reappeared in the media library... i then deleted it from one of the playlists, and it stopped reappearing in the media library. i think this is probably why the old wma's kept reappearing, last night...[attempt to load all my music into media library]...yay!, ok, that solved the problem. thanks for your help. i think also taking a break from trying to solve the problem also made me think about how to solve it differently. thanks alot!
