That "pave paradise and put up a parking lot" song, ugh it needs to die.

anubis2003 18th July 2003 22:05

Wesley Willis - Anything by this guy is ear-wrenching, yet funny(i.e. Cut The Mullet).

Hanson - MmmmBop. Don't know how this band got popular. It's scary actually.

Basically any crappy pop band is horrible IMO.

White Raven 18th July 2003 23:29

Zootm -- That's so true. That and money.

Anything by Celine Dion. She pisses me off.
I hate Britney's songs. Unintelligent lyrics and an annoying beat. Fuck off, boob-pumping whore.
Some other shit... I forget the name... I'll post back when I remember.

AAF's CD is actually really good. The record company decides the first single, so i don't hold that against them. :)

Yeah that's really gay.. 6 different words in that song.

Just a useless fact, but did you know that it took TWO people to write that song? They also have it copyrighted.

Yep. I would agree there.

My entry would surprisingly have to come from maybe the best band ever, the Beatles.

"Revolution #9" from the White Album. I'm not really sure you could even call it a song. It's just bad noise.

By the way Zoot, I was mainly speaking of mainstream hip-hop. :) I know there is good hip hop out there. :)

That would be "Big Yellow Taxi" by Alanis Morissette, someone else who did the original, or Counting Crows (with Vanessa Carlton). The CC version isn't too bad.

Joni Mitchell wrote and recorded the original (and best ;) ) version of "Big Yellow Taxi".

ShyShy 28th July 2003 07:11

i just heard the worst f*****g cover ever!!!! some moron did a techno mix of Don Henley's Boys of Summer. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cylob 28th July 2003 08:52

Most techno mixes (for techno mixes sake) get my eternal scorn. They're an abomination. I'm waiting for the techno cuts of the wedding & funeral marches. I believe they may even exist.

DJ Sammy. Forgive him, he's Spanish.

ShyShy 28th July 2003 17:33

usually DJ Sammy does ok. but it was a girl singing... but if Sammy was involved, major spankings for that one!

DJ Sammy did a bunch of techno covers of popular songs form the 80's "Boys of Summer" "California Dreamin'" "Heaven" and it pisses me off that he gets radio play with this crap when other better and original songs from better artists don't.

The Beatles were just another pop boy band IMHO.

yeah that one was especially bad.

Kaboon 28th July 2003 20:01

Cheeky Girls - Cheeky Song ?

Only partially. ;)

you must admit many aspects are similar: cheesy love songs, heart throbs, teeming masses of crazy, fainting, psychotic female fans, etc.

The beatles were more talented as they could play their own instruments and wrote their own songs. Plus they started to expand song subjects in their later work and sang about drugs and other stuff but the overall majority of their early work was love songs. :p

Raz 28th July 2003 22:03

randman that's EXACTLY how people react when i continuously put down the slew of modern songs to random people i don't know. :p

Niffle 28th July 2003 23:12

anything by 50 cent is now beginning to do me head in (especially that in da club one)

DragonSon 29th July 2003 04:45

Any song by Celine Dione, Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias...(by the way, I know I spelled most of their names wrong, but IMHO, they don't deserve the right to have their names spelled correctly...)I hear them EVERY DAY at work.....Damn Acme....:hang:

ditto, and i never really liked "in da club" in the first place, the guy's way overplayed and it's getting pretty damn annoying.

ditto on the Celine Dion.

and i'm surprised no one has mentioned "elevator music" or that crap that they use when companies put you on hold.

oooooo, and Kenny G!

Merlin 29th July 2003 22:49

Heh, hold music.

Cable & Wireless' tech support line used to play Sunchyme by Dario G, which was an alright record - trouble is, it was a four minute track and C&W had approximately one man doing tech support, so you'd typically be listening to it for five hours until he got round to you...

Now it's NTL, and they play something by Vivaldi, constantly interrupted by "your call is important" - No shit, I wouldn't call if it wasn't important, you morons. And they have more tech support staff. At least three. ;)

mikm 30th July 2003 01:46

what are you taling about! "in da club" is one of the most creatiev rap songs i've ever heard! How many other rap songs haev their titles spelt with words like "da" and not "the." That is unprecidented! Also, he talkes about his 'dubs' and his benz in the first verse, so unique! Dubs and benz, in a rap song! who woulda thought! Then he goes so far to talk about weed AND his hoes AND his 'bling bling'! Just wow! So many unique things that is never heard in any other rap song, it's just mind blowing!

 :p

She has the nerve to put down pop music, then do a cover of a fucking pop song or 8.

SemiTechGeek 30th July 2003 13:48

Kelly Osbourne....Talentless fat pig

I DON'T KNOW WHO WROTE THAT SONG BUT MY GOD DOES SHE NEED HELP. I HATETHAT SONG. I HATE ALL POP SONGS FROM THE 80'S.

:p 'm so excited,
And I just can't hide it,
And I know, I know, I know, I know
I know I want you, want you.

for what its worth : pointer sisters offcourse, (Words & music by trevor lawrence, anita, june and ruth pointer)

But you do have a point, personally i can't here such songs anymore.
I'd say all dance classics sux now, simply coz they got played like a zillion times..just to name a view that i started hating:

- celebration, (not)kool and the gang
- relight my fire - dan hartmann
- paradise by the f*****dash bla bla - meat loaf
- its raining men - the weather pigs

Dance Classics parties are very popular nowadays,,,why do ppl torture themselves??

btw: i'm new to this forum......hi to all

ShyShy 30th July 2003 17:14

HELLOOOOOOOOO roanfa! i used to love celebration, my sis had the cassette. never heard of your second pick. and yeah, "i'm so excited" and "it's raining men" both blow, even when i heard them the first go round.

Mattress 30th July 2003 18:49

pretty much anything by Brooklyn Bounce, ugh...

corkhead0 3rd August 2003 21:52

Well I'm a fan of open source, but I would have to say this is by far the worst song I've ever heard:

Oasis - Little James:

Quote:

You live for your toys, even though they make noise
Have you ever played with plasticine
Or even tried a trampoline
Liam Gallagher's ode to his young son. Truly hideous.

Merlin 5th August 2003 13:17

In addition to
Quote:

- celebration, (not)kool and the gang
- relight my fire - dan hartmann
- paradise by the f*****dash bla bla - meat loaf
- its raining men - the weather pigs
... - in fact, any version of Light My Fire, especially the Will Young one - there's Carl Douglas' Kung fu Fighting. Still makes me want to kill things.

Cylob 5th August 2003 16:41

I'm very fond of Dan Hartman's 'Relight My Fire'. It's a shame a boy band had to tarnish it.

Xerxes 5th August 2003 18:36

Speaking of tarnishing, that reminds me- The Kenny G "redux" of Louis Armstrong's "It's a wonderful world"- where he proceeds to play his clarinet *right over* the recording.

The Jazz equivalent of someone doing a tap dance on the shroud of Turin (It's a wonderful world being a sacred object)

d0rk 6th August 2003 07:23

Mariah Carey
Bringing On The Heartbreak

Yes yes, she did a cover of this song
