What's your "closet" music?

What kind of music do you really like and listen to when your window isn't open? What music do you listen to and don't tell anyone about it? :p

WomanOfHeart 2nd August 2003 03:07

I don't have any closet music. I don't care what anyone thinks about what I'm listening to. I listen to just about everything, but my guilty pleasure is 80's music.

Shenlong 2nd August 2003 03:43

Closet music? Uhh...

Aside from my younger cousin, none of my other friends know that I listen to J-Pop (Japanese pop). It's not that I really don't want anyone to know, it's just that I don't without a reason. I'd try to practice on guitar solos that are featured in some anime songs in front of my friends and stuff, but I never gave the thought of making a mention to them...

Whatever...

ShyShy 2nd August 2003 14:37

same with WOH, i really dont care what others think of my tastes, but i get teased a lot for liking country, (oh, go ahead, point and giggle or gag as the case may be :P) and i also like the songs from "kid's" movies, but i blame it all on the rugrat for being DJ Greedy in the car and wanting to listen to her cds.

taylormemer 2nd August 2003 14:46

SlipKnoT, coz i always get payed out at school. But thats not gonna stop me from listening to them.

j0ck3 2nd August 2003 16:44

Electric Light Orchestra

Mr_007 2nd August 2003 17:35

Like good music jpop!
hate of acid music!

henry3k56 2nd August 2003 20:52

Rock style music, actually I don't think my window is ever open except at night for the cool breezes.

anubis2003 3rd August 2003 00:22

none, really.

randman 3rd August 2003 01:16

'60's pop and bubblegum. :igor: The Monkees, Ohio Express, 1910 Fruitgum Company, and even The Archies. :o

(Wait! I just told everybody! You tricked me Raz! ;) :D )

henry3k56 3rd August 2003 06:26

60's music like The Animals. I listened through a lot of it on my family trip. My relatives like that stuff, and coincedentally their stuff appealed to me.

laz 3rd August 2003 07:44

err.... I really dont have any, well none that I will say ;)

ShyShy 3rd August 2003 16:22

hey randman, i like the bubble gum music of that time too, i grew up listening to it. my dad has cd's upon cd's of that genre. they're just fun to listen to.

Don't feel guilty about the 80's! The music was great, I don't care what anyone says.

I have a number of albums that tap into my soul. I often go back to them if feeling below sea-level.

A favourite sonic teddy-bear - Mega City Four - Who Cares Wins. It's a case of riding the peaks and troughs and feeling refreshed at the end.

hmm, I dunno, I guess I do own a Happy 2B Hardcore album but I rarely ever listen to it. I can't really think of anything. I own Madonna and Alice DeeJay but I never listen to them anymore either...

Maybe ATB would be the closest to cheesy pop-trance that I listen to but he does have some great songs.

Pixelcraft 5th August 2003 07:57

'60's pop '80's pop

are the worst music ever to be recorded imo

Bilbo Baggins 5th August 2003 10:16

I don't care what people think of what I listen too.

missinformation 11th August 2003 00:41

really redneck country music by junior brown and confederate railroad <giggle>

MetallichicA 11th August 2003 02:28

ELO and ABBA. Everyone laughs when I break those out - but that's what I grew up on - Out of the Blue, Super Trouper, and The Visitors on good ol' vinyl. I was so excited when I got to see ELO Part II in concert on the fourth of July, and everyone else was like, "Who?" :D

ShyShy 12th August 2003 03:06

remembered another group i get razzed on, The BeeGees. hey they're a very talented group and even more talented songwriters. too bad about one of the brothers dying.

ctn|chrisw 12th August 2003 03:14

80s pop :D

Twilightseer 12th August 2003 08:45

Mine would be any kind of trendy pop/dance acts, mostly the female ones (such as Tatu, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne and the likes) :D

Xerxes 12th August 2003 08:47

LOL :D Xerxes is now speaking l33t ;)

I forgot to add my Ally McBeal soundtracks, I usually listen to them when I'm alone. Usual reaction I got when I played them when someone else was around was a flabbergasted look accompanied by a " YOU like this kind of stuff ? This is so UNLIKE YOU" :D

Cylob 12th August 2003 10:32

Abba & the Bee Gees mentioned. I'm luke warm on them both, but somehow I have the greatest hits albums (how does that happen)? Probably the subconscious at work there, I'm too cool to knowlingly go out and buy the stuff. I'd have been embarrassed at the store.

Ally McBeal seer!!!!!!! I can't believe it. I'm also fond of a couple of Britney tracks (even a couple of boyband songs), but I'd never ever admit it.

:D :D :D

AMB - AKA 'A firm of sexually frustrated lawyers and their pet frog (come sex-slave) Jarvis'.

It happens in real life - I was once approached by a female colleague, who started talking about a stationery order. A minute in she suddenly stuttered and spluttered out the word 'sex'. In that one minute her working brain was derailed by her sex brain (obviously triggered by my good looks).

Anyway come on seer!!!! AMB????????????

Don't do it!!!! Think about the consequences!!!!! Of course you don't keep that AMB CD anywhere near your Cure or New Order albums.

Age? I am 32 (still spritely and youthful). How old are you, then? You must be of a similar age (I would've thought).

Twilightseer 12th August 2003 12:26

I'm 26 (and absolutely brilliant) :D

Cylob 12th August 2003 12:36

26 is a damned good age. Of course you're brilliant 'seer (comes from listening to the right music). But then there's (ahem) AMB!!!!! *cough*

ShyShy 12th August 2003 20:37

hehe, since 'seer was the first to admit to the whole boy band issue, i like Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" featuring 50 Cent.

Cylob 12th August 2003 21:15

Justin Timberlake ShyShy?!?!??!

Erm, I didn't say "Boy band", I mentioned "female" ones.
Sorry, but confusion had to be dispelled.

Go on now :D

Raz 13th August 2003 09:58

Oh yeah, it's all coming out in the open now isn't it. :p

I can't say i care what people think about what i listen to anymore so if i get the feeling people would have some strange reaction to hearing me listen to it i turn it up in the hopes of surprising/offending someone.
