XP skinning for Winamp's menus and preferences

1 Attachment(s)
Want to skin Winamp's menus so that it looks like the rest of Windows XP?
Copy the following into notepad:

Quote:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?><assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" manifestVersion="1.0"><assemblyIdentity version="1.0.0.0" processorArchitecture="X86" name="CompanyName.ProductName.YourApp" type="win32"/><description>Your application description here.</description><dependency> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity type="win32" name="Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls" version="6.0.0.0" processorArchitecture="X86" publicKeyToken="6595b64144ccf1df" language="*" /> </dependentAssembly></dependency></assembly>
...and save it as winamp.exe.manifest in Winamp's main directory. I've attached an image to show what I mean. Sorry if this has been posted before...

It's skinned for me even without the manifest file.

Hey, thanks for pointing that out.

Sorry I should've searched. If you're using WindowBlinds or something then everything gets skinned I think.

Then obviously you're using some sort of 3rd party skinning program, like WindowBlinds, etc. etc. so you should at least explain to people how yours is skinned without an XP manifest, whether it be a seperate file (winamp.exe.manifest) or ResHacked right into the wianmp executable. Cuz any program has to have it one way or another to be skinned by XP Visual Styles unless WindowBlinds or something else is used.

Not for me. Well, at least partially, anyway. Without the file, it has the XP style title bar, border and scroll bars. But with the file, all the buttons, check boxes, etc. are XP-style and the header titles are blue. Looks better with the file, since that way it's completely XP-style.

No 3rd party skinning programs. Mine is more of how UltraZelda64 describes it.

well titlebars/borders/scrollbars are os dependent, the controls aren't
windows xp doesn't automatically apply the style to controls because some older apps (vb apps iirc) screw up then
you have to tell winxp do so by such a manifest, either separate or compiled into the .exe

Take a look at XP Style Hacker . Maybe this is the what you'll are looking for!

Cheerios
:)

It would be nice if nullsoft would hack styles support into winamp.

if they had a bugzilla I 'd vote for this "feature".

EDIT: the style hacker does the same. it simply creates manifest files for certain applications.
