Weezer

Weird, but for some reason I popped in Pinkerton and now I'm hooked again. I've been listening to the Weezer collection for about, 6 hours. Can't stop.

I did this on ratm a few monthes ago.

What are your thoughts on Weezer?
=w=

Shenlong 17th August 2003 05:59

I really only liked one song from them (Which is kind of easy to guess... ;) )...I can't really listen to anything else from Weezer, though...

taylormemer 17th August 2003 10:32

I like Weezer, my favourite song of theres was Hash Pipe that song was pretty cool.

Cylob 17th August 2003 13:55

They did a great song & video once (Buddy Holly). I haven't got any other Weezer material, I could never get past the stupid name (sounds like a comic book). When there's so much music around I'm inclined to go on impulse. It's usually right.

Impulses suck. They keep your mind from opening to different genres of everything, especially music.

And why does a comic book name suck? They were a bunch of nerds who started a band, what's not to dig, just a bit?

At least they didn't get their fame from looking attractive (Britney Spears, N?sync, etc.)

Phat-Cow- 18th August 2003 00:09

man weezer is the best ever my favorite album is the blue

oNaMiSsIo 18th August 2003 00:24

i'm a weezer fan, not a huge one, but a friend took me to a few concerts and i have to say they are great live. :)

It's a matter of resourses. At the time (1996) I had 3 albums on my want list but only money for 2. The bands - Dodgy, Sleeper, Weezer. Weezer lost out on their name alone. Tough luck! I never regretted the decision, the other 2 albums were absolutely excellent. When buying I always went with impulse, however I NEVER wrote-off any bands without hearing them first.

Weezer lost out again in 2001. It was either them or Murry the Hump.

Pinkerton is my favorite album from Weezer, too bad Rivers says he wishes they had never done that album. :(

I haven't really listened to their last two albums much, I'm just not really into rock as much as I used to be.

Merlin 18th August 2003 17:46

The video for Buddy Holly was brilliantly done. :)

I bought the Green album back in 2001, but still listen to it. It's short, but sweet. :)

Fickle 19th August 2003 02:23

The green album is very repetitious. get Maladroit, very high class.

DJHattrick 19th August 2003 03:16

my fav all time song by weezer
def. sweater song

oNaMiSsIo 19th August 2003 03:23

your sig is gi-normous, man. take a look at this.

Fickle 26th September 2003 03:09

bump* simply because, there is milling of a fifth album.

seems interesting, as despite Maladroits near failure, it's a good album. Like Pinkerton, the public was just too busy listening to Evenescence (Linkin Park Meets the Go-Go's) type music to get a decent album.

zootm 26th September 2003 11:06

i love the blue album, not so sure about the other stuff. "hash pipe" was good, though.

Merlin 26th September 2003 11:26

The green album (stupid sodding non-titled albums) wasn't repetitive. There are also some cracking tracks on it. I've met about three people who have given this album the time of day, and when they have, they've realised it's better than you first thought.

Fickle 15th December 2003 02:58

*bump* just cause I fell back on Pinkerton after talking to a friend and singing half the album on over a couple beers.

Spazz333 15th December 2003 04:45

Yeah, the Green Album is pretty easily abandoned. It has this strange way of growing on you after time though. I think Crab off it is one of thier best songs.

sidd 16th December 2003 08:34

I always thought that they were pretty average as an indie band, but the fact that they were such geeks made up a few points.

Say it aint so is prolly my fav track.

Phat-Cow- 20th December 2003 03:08

there probly the first band i listend to (more like first cd i bought ever)

ViperJackson 19th January 2004 04:48

The Green Album has no depth. It's like listening to one song for 29 minutes. It's not bad, but their other music seems to have "depth," which is odd, because Weezer isn't deep.

I downloaded a track labeled Weezer and Sonic Youth - Sweater Song live. Can anyone tell me about this track? Was Sonic Youth involved at all? Who is reading that annoying poetry?

Fickle 8th February 2004 04:32

prolly sonic youth. The sweater song has no poetry.

lol. I just revived a dead thread.

I like weezer. Discuss.
