as far as I'm concerned Pi is just a tasty food, and 3.14, nothing more nothing less.

I had a txt file that had pi to 30 million digits. was 32 megs in size.

And for general use, i use 3.14159 for pi. Unless i have a caclulator, then i use whatever it spits out.

The point my dear boy is used to indicate the end of the counting system 10s and commencement of the fractional notation tenths and beyond (just after the 3 and before the 1).
Also, this is another of man's quests for perfection. If we can accurately calculate the ratio of a circle's circumference to it's diameter I suspect we might actually have the ability to create first perfect circle/sphere/curved surfaces ever.:igor:

It's C++, but it prints by default to 5 dp, you can change the precision though by using the precision flag with cout.

There's a great little book about pi, and honestly I'm too lazy to look it up right now, but it's a really fun coffee table book, especially if you're nerdy like me :)

Pi is definitely one of my favorite movies. In fact it was some of the inspiration for my latest skin. Have you guys seen Requiem for a Dream (a film with the same director)? Holy Lord. it's pronounced "pie" in english, and in the anglicised pronounciation of latin. how the greek pronounce it is irrelevant, as it's not based on their language.

for example, i'd pronounce "y = x + 2" as "why equals ecks plus two", but a french person would pronounce it differently (beginning with - if memory serves - "ee grek")...

as long as you're speaking english, it's pronounced the same as "pie", is my point, anyways.

As for pi, seeing it is an endless number (or is it?), one would never be able to make a perfect sphere from it, there will ALWAYS be some error in it. Unless you make it in a zero-gravity area.

that's what i'm thinking... imdb doesn't seem to have any record of another film by the same title, though - is it possible you saw a film called "delta pi", or something?
