What address did you give out?
Well, this seems to be your website but you have to give out the IP address or hostname of the machine running the SHOUTcast server.
I tried using my IP, but that didn't work either. So if someone wanted to tune into my broadcast, I would give them this address for instance: http://198.168.1.5 ?
When I login into my admin account on my website the IP address is different than the one I specified. Should I try using that 1? I'm not @ home now so I'll give it another try later.. |
Your website does not have anything to do with it. Your users should be able to listen to your stream by going to http://198.168.1.5:8000/ (respectively http://198.168.1.5:8000/listen.pls for a direct link). Make sure you have forwared all necessary ports (in case there is a router/ADSL modem) and that a possibly existent firewall does not block the connection.
Oh, ok. I'll try that when I get home and let you know. Thanks! :)
If your router doesn't support local loopback then machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.
Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. |
In other words, you must use your real world IP.. you can find this at www.whatismyip.com and once you get that, simply place it in the url:
http://yourIP:yourport or (to bring up WinAmp) http://yourIP:yourport/listen.pls |
Thanks a lot everyone!!! It's working :D
