What in the music world really annoys you right now? Have you just heard the new no.1 and would like to sand-blast the singer? Prize for the first person to mention Mick Hucknell.

The RIAA really annoys me, followed closely by Metallica.

I got asked by the GF's mother to aquire the latest Simply Dreadfull album last week, 'twas a hard task not to retch while checking the integrity of the downloads afterwards.

The only good thing about it was the smug fact that I had swizzed Mick out of a few quids worth of royalties, few more of those and it should wipe the "I can't believe my luck" smile that he wears on a permanent basis.

Now what's my prize? :D I have something in mind if you don't ;)

Mick Hucknall is the bloke out of Simply Red. Apart from Fairground, which reminds me of good times at school when it was played a lot circa 1996, not many of their songs were popular. I find Mick and the band a bit annoying...

The only time I ever liked Avril Lavigne was when she did the Metallica cover on "Fuel" (Even though the Metallica version of that song sucked, since "Reload" was mainly an ass album by general Metallica standards)...She pretty much ruins everything, when they play as a mainstream pop-punk band, I.E: Thanks to her public single of "Sk8r Boi", there are preps walking around posing as skateboarders...Bitch... :hang:

311, Trapt...Any of those new disposable bands who are only famous because of a catchy yet shitty debut single...Same thing with bands like Good Charlotte...How could you go to their concert and expect to be excited from a band that only plays 2 notes throughout a whole song?! Arg! :mad:

I seem to dislike any over-sized band. U2 included. People who are big on U2 just haven't had the good fortune of discovering the far-better bands. I pitty them. SAD TWATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't tell me you consider U2 to be the greatest band ever? If so, then yes.;)

Avril Lavigne and Good Charlotte. both suck ass, and thats all that needs to be said. U2 arent bad, but no way are they the best band in the world, that title is reserved for Bon Jovi! :D

I find Bon Jovi to be very similar to Belinda Carlisle in her 'Heaven is a Place on Earth' phase. Same sort of music. They penned some good pop tunes (as did U2).

I find Oasis are like U2 actually - hugely overated and hailed as kings of rock n roll. Bollox!!!!!!!!! To my knowledge Oasis have written only 4 decent songs, U2 probably 8. Oasis should've been a new-wave act with Liam employed as the dancer (hands behind the back, nod head up & down). If they got a beat going he'd be able to tap his foot as well.

I have the White Stripes on, this stuff is really crap. The return of garage rock n roll?????? I haven't got past the pain threshold with them - is it all a joke? Are the 10/10 ratings an evil ploy?

I believe Oasis hyped themselves up. Didn't Liam say at one time that they were greater than the Beatles? Hmmm, could've sworn I just saw them on a "VH1's Where Are They Now?" episode ;)

I saw just one live performance of White Stripes on TV, and that was enough to convince me that they weren't worth my time.

I have 3 of their albums (and I don't even like the stuff). Perhaps I have to be hit on a certain part of the head to like it. Anyhow, I'd better clear up the mess from last night (I spy empty lager cans).

The White Stripes : damn, they suck. And every rock magazine here raves about them being "the return of genuine rock and roll". :eek:.

I suppose critics' tastes change after listening to so much generic shite, that's why bands who sound different, like the White Stripes, stand out to them. You have to admit no-one else sounds like the White Stripes. Innovation is a good thing these days, even if it is a return to a raw sound.

Their 'raw sound' has no soul, frankly it just bores the crap out of me. Other minimalist bands (like Pavement) do the job far better. The White Stripes are like cake without taste. They're white stripes on white paper (yawn).:rolleyes:

Really though...The Ramones were cool, but what's with the White Stripes? I suppose they're a good foundation band for someone who's new to playing guitar and needs and easy song to begin with (Seven Nation Army was one of the first songs I learned how to play on my bass guitar), but their sound is just...bland...I don't know what else I could say about it...OK, but not all that great...

People are out there peddling 'blands' (my phrase for bland bands). Why????? Why on earth do they pass off the White Stripes, Strokes and countless others as the return of rock???? More like the return of cock. NME dress bands up just to sell more copies.

If the magazine reckons a band is better than you think it is, try a different magazine. Or no magazine at all. Why complain about their taste being different to yours?

I recognise pure hype when I see it. Are the White Stripes the greatest band of the last 5 years? Is their music outstanding? Have they started a fantastic new trend?
