Alternate Sexualities

How many gays does the GD board have? Be proud! Reply!

teh Nightwing 2nd September 2003 15:17

^ Apparently only one (haha)

P.S. IT'S NOT ME!

Germ 2nd September 2003 15:27

Oh there are some - They will reply, too. And no, I'm not gay, so stop coming on to me freak boy.

Thats not funny.

/me raises hand

Germ 2nd September 2003 16:12

So yeah, Chris - being gay - how does it make you feel that a lot of people are like "teh nightwing" in this world?

ShyShy 2nd September 2003 16:17

ctn, I believe that teh nightwing was jokingly referring to Germ with his post. I don't think that nightwing intended to malisciously insult any of the gay memebers here.

ctn|chrisw 2nd September 2003 16:17

It pisses me off, of course. I usually scream at people who act like that.

Joke or no joke, it still 1) wasn't funny and 2) was homophobic

Er.. all due respect and all, whatever your opinion is about it being funny or not, I don't see anything homophobic about what 'teh nightwing' posted. Or any other ****phobic, for that matter.

By all means enlighten me if this is not the case.

he said "^ Apparently only one (haha)"
meaning he was calling germ gay, then laughing at it. finding someone being gay funny aka making fun of them, that is homophobic.

apollos 2nd September 2003 16:38

Yes, I am gay

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY I TELL YOU

come, come and learn the ways of the GAY.

k thanks :>

. - .... .- -. .... 2nd September 2003 16:40

To be honest, I find his post open to interpretation (as does one of the guys who works with me here, and happens to be gay).

I'm not 'taking sides' here, for what it's worth - I just feel that if this is going to be discussed sensibly, not only do people have to be care ful of how they post, but others must also use some form of discretion in their interpretation of the posts here. If the defensive walls are going to fly up at the merest hint of anything that can be interpreted as an insult, then the thread might as well be locked now.

anubis2003 2nd September 2003 16:41

He didn't show any sort of fear of homosexuals, so he wasn't being homophobic.

I am not gay. I do not understand why anyone would want to be gay. It doesn't mean that gay people are bad - I've been friends with some. Do I treat them differently? Yes. Nobody knows whether a gay person would try to do anything with them - even if they are friends. I am not going to take chances like that, although I will still hang out with them - just not alone in a private area.

. - .... .- -. .... 2nd September 2003 16:43

Question for you:

would you hang out with a girl, alone, in a private area?

Just curious :)

OutlawJim 2nd September 2003 16:46

im gay. i dont think he was being homophobic, but he was using gay as a derogetry term, which isn't right. so chris is wrong but right.

Nah, whatever. I still see it as homophobic, and my views wont change, but please, if people start bringing the bible into this thread, lock it at once, as that usually starts wars if you do a search.

Don't worry - it'll be locked at the first sign of shit being flung.

finding it funny someone is gay and making fun of them are two different things.

you make fun of them because it's funny, not because they're gay.

/me flops wrist.

Germ 2nd September 2003 18:38

I find this debate of how you people treat gay people quite interesting, as some of the people are showing their true colors. I hear guys saying all the time "Man I'm cool with gay guys... but they better not try shit with me!" That's someone trying to appear that he's cool with gay people but he's really just "cool enough" with them that he doesn't beat the hell out of them once he finds out they are gay. It's also kind of egotistical to think that every gay guy will come on to another guy just because they are gay. People that say shit like that are posers and aren't being honest.

liquidmotion 2nd September 2003 18:43

i'm not gay, btw.

zootm 2nd September 2003 18:49

a guy i work with came in drinking one night, and insisted that all the guys (in the building) kiss him. anyone who didn't was either homophobic, or not comfortable with their sexuality, in his eyes. he's not gay - he's just comfortable enough that he's straight that he can kiss guys. :)

i'm comfortable with gay people, as for the whole "they better not try that with me" thing, i think you're taking it too far saying that these people are lying. a lot of people are simply uncomfortable because it's not what they know. also, i'd hate it if a gay guy came onto me, because i wouldn't find them attractive. it's just like having a girl who you find unattractive coming on to you - if you're at least trying to be polite, it's an uncomfortable situation to be in.

liquidmotion 2nd September 2003 18:51

kiss him on the lips?

Germ 2nd September 2003 18:55

Would you tell the unattractive girl not to try anything with you beforehand, before they even mentioned anything to you about them liking you even if there was no possibility of them liking you? They ARE lying when they are saying that it's "Cool" that the person is gay, and then say "But don't try anything with me!" - Because if you were really cool about it, it would be known that you are straight and being so, are not into gay sex, therefore, no reason for them to try shit with you - because you are not gay. Get it home fry? I'm glad we got it clear now.

liquidmotion 2nd September 2003 18:58

germ's into gay sex. that's what i hear, anyway.

/me runs.

Raz 2nd September 2003 19:21

Most homophobic people think that all gays want HOT SEX NOW with all men and are going to rape them at first glance."They better not try anything with me", but they most probably want girls who they are not remotely attracted to to come on to them anyway. If gay people come onto you, guess what, you can politely decline and say you're not gay. And guess what, they most probably won't drag you off to somewhere not very pleasent and "do things" to you. Guess what again, not all gay people are out for sex every time they look somewhere. Just because they talk to you doesn't mean they're after your genitalia. :p

<-- Not gay by the way.

gay men want is to hit on them...puh-leeze!

would you tell a gay guy that beforehand? what if you didn't know their intentions? what if you didn't know they were gay? it's not always something that comes up in conversation.

Coman 2nd September 2003 20:32

so, so far we got - ctn, rocky, apollos, outlaw. is that it?

[edit] and i think they are all males, is that right?

Mrs_Mia_Wallace 2nd September 2003 20:42

Just a question to Rocky: are you male or female? I have seen you posting but don't remember you stting your gender somewhere. If you did, I apologize :)

And just because it's the question of the thread, I am not gay because only sometimes fantasizing of the same sex doesn't count. ;)

Mia:)

apollos 2nd September 2003 20:58

Rocky is male.

Erm, I'm just fed up of little children who are just so damned insecure, hearing people say, "I'm fine with them as long as they don't try and rape me" just makes me want to piss them off even more.

I mean, there are so pretty damn awful people in this world, yet there are nice people too, how can you so easily segregate gay people, expecting them to be terrible people? Why should you treat me as a second class civilian and not give me the chance to prove who I am before you let your insecurities reduce you to a mumbling frightened child threatening to pummle the gay guy.

There is someone else who I can think of that is bi but I'm not telling there, actually I can think of 3 people who are bi that post here.

Oh, don't forget patroclus who is gay and married, and Oni who doesn't post here much and Random_Error who was banned, boooooo :p

Widdykats 2nd September 2003 21:03

I would love it if people saw The Laramie Project .

The film shows the true nature of gay bashing on every level! True story!:(

LawnGnome2005 2nd September 2003 21:09

*Holds back urge to post "this thread is gay" pic*

lol but seriously. I have a gay friend who I hang out with all the time. I don't have any problem with him being gay. But its kind of annoying that he has to tell everyone he's gay. BTW im not gay.

godoncrack 2nd September 2003 21:27

we have this dishwasher at work. He is obviously gay.
sometimes he walks around doing nothing while there's shit that needs to be done.
So, being the natural born leader, walk over to him and announce:
"You lazy bitch, get off your ass and do somethin', boy!!"
And I get called a homophobe!!
Its like i can't say somethin to a gay person with out being accused of discrimination.
I don't just limit my hate to a small, NARROW population sector.
I belive in hating EVERYONE; regardless of race or other shit.
Yet i am JUST because he is gay, he gets treated special.
Doesn't have to work as hard, doesn't get bitched at, can go on break when ever he wants.
I have nothing in particular against gays.
But JUST because they are gay, doesn't mean you are any worse or better than ME!
and people who sling "HOMOPHOBE", can kiss my white hairy ass!!
you wanna go have a drink, fine!
suggest sex (and get told no), not a problem!!
ANYONE(male, female, other) tries something against my wishes,DEATH!!!

godoncrack 2nd September 2003 21:31

and i like poon not peter

How are you going to ask me that question when that was the original point? My question about the woman was supposed to show you the other point of view about all of this - which is that men treat women that are attracted to them that they don't like nicer than they would treat a gay guy that is attracted to them but you totally missed that. I almost didn't reply to this because it just makes my head hurt that you're not getting the point. I assure you, if you don't get it after this, I will simply give up on you and not reply to retardedness.

most people who'd say that in that situation would be joking. people who honestly worried about it wouldn't make gay friends ;)

No, they would not be joking. Maybe you would be, but others would not be. I can understand that you haven't really been around in the real world and haven't interacted with different kinds of people and don't understand these things but hey, whatever. Yes people that truely "worried" as you so elegantly put it, would not make gay friends, very good that you pointed that out. I'm proud.

were you calling me "fry", or "home fry" there? and when the hell did "fry" become any sort of thing to call someone, when it's not their name? is this a regional thing?
I was calling you home fry, because if you noticed, that's what I fucking said. Home Fry is something I say to people. It may be "regional" to the Southern part of the United States, because that's where I'm from... Home fry. And with that, I bid thee well.
