Problems with my transmition

Y need a solution to my problem, the log of my shoutcast server monitor is:

<09/04/03@18:04:17> [dest: 200.54.177.70] starting stream (UID: 0)[L: 1]{A: Shoutcast Server 1.9.2}(P: 0)
<09/04/03@18:04:22> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<09/04/03@18:04:22> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (please type something else in the stream title/description field)

Thanks for your help

:igor:

To fix the "yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (please type something else in the stream title/description field)" error, you need to type something else in the stream title/description field.

Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on 'stream title field'.

Look for a post by airkick titled:
"Plz type something else in the stream title"

Note: Other search criteria may yield more results.

I was unable to maintain a satisfactory connection to your stream to give it an adequate review.

Please check your bandwidth.

Check out the Sticky post titled:
SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME!

Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled:
1. DNAS Stuff -> Bandwidth -> DSLReports Bandwidth tester(Only be concerned with the UPLOAD bandwidth)
2. DNAS Stuff -> Bandwidth -> CasterClub's Listener Calculator
3. DNAS Stuff -> Bandwidth -> CasterClub's Bandwidth Calculator

Use 1 to find your upload.
Use 2 to determine the number of listeners you can support at your selected streaming bitrate.

Jay (KXRM) also has a Bandwidth Calculator.

Thanks again for your help.
I have another information in my shoutcast server monitor, I don't know is Ok or not. Please tell me that the following information is under the parameter of a good transmition:

<09/05/03@10:41:41> [dest: 200.54.177.70] starting stream (UID: 1)[L: 1]{A: Shoutcast Server 1.9.2}(P: 0)
<09/05/03@10:44:36> [yp_tch] yp.shoutcast.com touched!
<09/05/03@10:47:39> [yp_tch] new backup server 200.54.177.70:8000

<09/05/03@10:50:42> [yp_tch] yp.shoutcast.com touched!
<09/05/03@10:53:46> [yp_tch] new backup server 200.54.177.70:8000

FesterHead 5th September 2003 16:07

That is the DNAS telling you the relay is OK.

ricgrau 5th September 2003 16:09

Thank you master.

Other information of my shoutcast server monitor, what's it means?:

<09/09/03@11:55:19> [yp_tch] yp.shoutcast.com touched!
<09/09/03@11:57:13> [dest: 130.60.220.211] starting stream (UID: 8)[L: 2]{A: iTunes/2.0.3 (Macintosh; N; PPC)}(P: 1)
<09/09/03@11:58:21> [yp_tch] new backup server 200.54.177.70:8000
<09/09/03@11:58:21> [yp_tch] yp.shoutcast.com touched!
<09/09/03@11:59:06> [dest: 130.60.220.211] connection closed (113 seconds) (UID: 8)[L: 1]{Bytes: 720896}(P: 1)
<09/09/03@12:01:23> [yp_tch] new backup server 200.54.177.70:8000

Why appear this IP dest: 130.60.220.211 like starting stream and following the same IP but "connection closed": is a listener?

Thanks again

FesterHead 9th September 2003 16:08

<09/09/03@11:57:13> [dest: 130.60.220.211] starting stream (UID: 8)[L: 2]{A: iTunes/2.0.3 (Macintosh; N; PPC)}(P: 1)
This is someone from ip 130.60.220.211 tuning into your station using the iTunes application from a Macintosh.

<09/09/03@11:59:06> [dest: 130.60.220.211] connection closed (113 seconds) (UID: 8)[L: 1]{Bytes: 720896}(P: 1)
This is someone from ip 130.60.220.211 (see above) disconnecting from your station after 113 seconds of connectivity.

This is normal DNAS connection/disconnection activity.

Hi, another question for you. Why some listeners that in the past had a fine reception, now they try to conect with my IP and nothing happens? They conect with my IP directly on www.americajazz.com/home.asp and in the visor appear loading, OK, and nothing happens.
Please help me with this.
My direct IP http://200.54.177.70:8000

Thank you so much

FesterHead 12th September 2003 22:24

Please verify your IP.
http://200.54.177.70:8000/ -> Cannot find server or DNS Error

Is your DNAS on?

******************

In your popup player code, try adding a trailing slash / after the portBase value.

ricgrau 12th September 2003 22:52

OK
Can you "in" now please? Y think my DNAS was off.

DJHotIce 12th September 2003 23:12
